Gaming Youtube for 3DS - What do you expect?

I expect the app to run small videos (5-10 minutes) relatively well. Anything larger, and it's Buffering city.

Well, it's not going to be better than smartphones, consoles and the Vita but it's something for 3DS owners.

I think it will probably not be able to even run anything more than 20 mins

Why not?

Because the only thing the 3DS has advantage over any portable device is the ability to play 3DS games.

Every other feature of the 3DS can be done much better, much faster, and more functional than Nintendo can possibly ever conceive for the 3DS on a tablet or phone, let alone release a YouTube-specific app for it.

And thats not even considering the terrible quality and resolution of streaming videos on Nintendo's own eShop service.

Netflix does not work well on the 3DS. Quality and resolutions suffer greatly and buffering is an issue.

3D videos were "confirmed" years ago but since then have given up to provide that kind of service.

Straight trash. The only reason you would watch Youtube videos on your 3DS is for the 3D, which even then will probably be scarce.

Like...why watch videos on a device with such a tiny resolution/screen when you have phones/tablets/PCs/consoles that could do it better?

This was my first thought on hearing there would be YouTube for 3DS.

Here's hoping they are going to implement some sort of downscaling, because holy cow, the audio quality on 240p streams is horrendous and the screen is always full of artifacts.

Finally a system shifting feature no one could live without! 1080p HD 3D Youtube on Your 3DS! So now many people around the world have yet another device to (unfortunately) watch PewDiePie make rape jokes on the go!

Seems pointless to me but eh I am sure someone will use it, most will ignore it mind you especially since I doubt it would break 360p in quality xD
