Have you ever enjoyed a video game so much when you were younger!
Have you ever tried to or have already replayed that same game and think to yourself "I was a lot better when I was younger"
Well I just finished beating one of my favorite game of all time
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time :P
and I just realized I sucked so bad even though I'm so good at games. Never have I felt so ashamed to play the game I love and beat it without getting every heart piece, Golden Skulltula, and even skipping the trial to get the Ice Arrow. What I think is because I already know the game it's already explored in the back of my mind. Since I know what to do I just breeze through the game forgetting that the game is a whole world to explore experiencing more deaths, forgetting the musical melodies, and trying to rush the game. This also isn't the first time I experienced this, in many other games where I successfully completed a certain part so perfect I seem to have to go through a struggle.

What my question is, Have you ever played a game at a younger age and seem to play it better than your older self now:unsure: or Is it the opposite way for you with every game.

No, because until 17 I had assholes "parents" restricting me anything related to a video game or computer.

But the (rare) time I did, I couldn't play more than an hour per period. So I suck really bad just like I was at 8 year old.

Today, I'm a lot better, because I am free to play as much as I want. But, I don't have much free time than I used to.

Yes to an extent like I use to beat my sister at Double dash all the time but now she beats me.

Generally I feel like I'm much better now unless
    A. I'm rusty on the game and forgot the rules

B.I'm playing against someone who plays the game regularly

I had thought that I had gotten better with age, but then I realized it's just that today's games are easy. Went back and played some SNES games like Super Empire Strikes Back and The Lion King and those games kicked my ass.

Hmm, well I think I'm losing my touch in fighting games (arcade) and that is because of limited time for work and school.
Ocarina is a favorite but I think if i were to play again id forget many things.

Hopefully you get to enjoy video games more, it get really fun when you can challenge yourself with games you play over and over.

Tough challenges between siblings/friends can make you feel that way. I used to be that way with my brother.
I tried going back to Super Castlevania 4 and I realized I can make it passed the second stage and onward without dying . Games back then didn't help you so much like they do now which its really difficult if you're not used to them.
You would probably remember many things if you replayed the game but could possibly forget how/where to get them (at least that's what happened to me).
    THAT'S A BIG PROBLEM:P
Every time I play a classic game I get so tempted to use cheats which spoil it for me.

Indeed. I tried to replay the N64 perfect dark at one point. How I ever put up with it running that badly I do not know. Fortunately the XBLA remake exists and is still awesome. Same applies to the handful of good N64 games that there were, fortunately most of those have since been ported out/remade on a good system.

Most 3d time killer type games I feel similar about. I am not going to be wiring up a PS2 to play one of its need for speed games when I can just play one of the current ones, same goes for COD and various other "annual" games.

When I was younger I had lots of time but no money for games. Now I'm older, I have money but no time for gaems.

I don't think so, except that I used to do way more variety in combos when I was younger whereas nowadays I just spam a single move. But arguably that means older me is still better, since using a variety of moves mindlessly isn't necessarily more effective.

Let's see, I received my very first game console - the PSOne, when I was still 8 years old. I was into racing games most of the time and my weakest forte was fighting games. Skipping through time, 15 years later, I still suck at fighting games, or maybe I've gotten even worse at it. I still remember the time when it always gave me the creeps everytime my older brother plays Resident Evil 2 or 3, now I can speed play and complete the main story of those 2 games in just 2 hours, so maybe I've gotten quite accustomed to shooter and puzzle games. In the end, nothing much has changed from me, but there are still some games that have gotten me all rusty through the years.

Any of the old games I went back and played I was better at (though that's mostly Mario lol).
