if you need a guide, then this isnt meant for you. also, current loaders may not support this IOS. in GX, it will not work yet. this installs as 222/223 v5 and we have a check and only use v4. it may be the same in cfg loader and whatever other loader you are using. if you install it at 249 or 250, it probably wont work because in wanin's IOS, you dont have to load the echi module so current loaders will think it is just wanins and not bother to do that.

as far as other stub locations, sure it's possible to use whatever you want, but i just picked 2 that would cause the least conflicts for anybody. i i made 60 a choice for example, there would be some idiot that needed IOS 60 for their system menu but installed this there and fucked stuff up. i guess you could just make a loop out of this and write it to every IOS slot like cIOScorp. but i wouldnt advise that either. the main reason for this is just to not rely on wanin's IOS to be able to use older apps. and the stub part is just my version of his 250. just a way to have a backup on the wii in case you ever need it.

believe it or not i'm not a noob asking for trouble =). I am just new to homebrew on the Wii and mastering the terms and kinks needed to fully understand the process, the need for a guide is to understand every step. But if you do not recommend using this instead of the original, then it is ok

I don't think system menu IOS are a good choice, I'm still using IOS30 for SM3.2E, if noobs don't understand what they are doing, it will be terrible.
Maybe you could add a check for the actual SM used and prevent the IOS slot to be chosen.

Doesn't letting the users choose where to install their own cIOS would result in Nintendo creating a new system menu detecting and deleting cIOS instead of replacing common known slots ?

Of course that would brick the wii if it will delete a patched IOS required by the system menu, so maybe they will never do it this way.
Or delete known unused slot and replace known used, but it will not work with offline Wii.
No, after all I think it will not affect antipiracy method.

now what we will need is more homebrew letting the user choose the cIOS slot to run, or autodetection.

Works using rev875:
I loaded The Beatles: Rock Band.... correct
Downloaded a song from the music store... correct
Played the song... correct
Checking if the song isn't in the NAND... fail

The cIOS can't handle DLC...

Tested on GH5 and Rock Band 2
Same results...

ok, i put a working version in the first post.

and does hermes' IOS handle the DLC and this one doesnt?

I can't find the new link in the 1st post..

That is a old link in my History, just in case someone would like to get to old one. (It doesn't work here..)

Anyhow this is the newest version:

Nice work, GP. The CIOS works nicely as IOS 4 now on my Wii. I just used IOS38 as a base. :3

I have installed this cIOS as 222 using 38 merged with 37 and I still have problems with Rock band DLC not being deleted from the NAND.

Am I doing something wrong, or am I mis-understanding what this cIOS does?

I loaded RB2 using the latest version of uLoader, if that affects anything.

Would RB2 DLC (and maybe even RawkSD) work if I installed this cIOS over IOS37, or is that not recommended?

This cIOS only works with USB-GX, you have to reinstall original(v4) to use with uLoader.

Ok, thanks for your quick reply.

Can I please confirm that this cIOS solves the DLC problem with Rock band wen loading from USB?

Sorry to be a pain =P
