Hi All!

Me and my friend started working on a new game console that is what we call Xenon. It is a big project, I know, but we decided to make one just for the heck of it.
Right now, we are currently working on the software(and we have gotten pretty far on it), and so far we have added:

- A load screen

- A channel-system menu

- Ability to play music

- Some abilities of the internet

Its at a very low level, but if you watch the video that we made so far of it, you may think otherwise.

Xenon 0.1.5

Please comment.

Good idea!

Yeh, the thing is we used a bad system to make the console. With a good graphics gaming system, the console can't handle much.

We are thinking about decreasing the graphics on Xenon and using less alpha so that the system an load faster.

I have to say that this is pretty interesting. People make homebrew games all the time, but this is the first time I've seen someone attempt to make their own console. Good luck with this project.

A Beagleboard or Pandaboard would be a cool platform for this rather than a PC...

But anyhows what is this, a custom WM/DM running on a lite distro? Are you using a real time kernel? glibc, uClibc? More details would be very nice.

There's a few. I like this one http://www.openpandora.org/, and there's a lot of 8/16 bit systems. I'll try find some links if you want.
