also, what are quest stars!? i havent even seen this tomb your talking about! i checked for the quest giver (i forget her name) at the archeology levil in the nopon village but cant find her!

and has anyone found a site with level maps? iv found so many secret areas on the snow level, im sure iv missed loads in the other maps. i wanna check what i havent found yet...

should i be filling my Collectopaedia ? i havent put anything in it yet as im worried i may put something in it i later need for a quest. or does it not work like that? i only just discovered it lol
When you load the menu with all the links between citizens, you have stars under the city name.
The more stars you have, the more quest you unlock.
You even unlock a trophies for each town when you get 3 stars.

Maps :
http://gbatemp.net/t307208-xenoblade-chron...cation-full-map

I don't know if they contains the "hidden areas" (the one not printed on the map in the game). I didn't watch the maps not to get spoiled.

About the collectopaedia :
You can fill it, all the items can be found again (either the blue light items or the dropped items), just go back to the map and take everything/fight all monsters again.
Filling the encyclopedia give you items, it's too bad that you don't benefit these new weapons/armors
tongue.gif

I don't fill them until I've talked to everyone in the nearest/next town, because they usually have quests with these items.
So when I get the quest, I already have the items. But one the quests are all completed I can fill the encyclopedia freely.

thanks for all the info guys

I've updated and completed the Giant's hidden treasure quest #2 on the previous page.

Edit:
You can find a mini guide with all the info on this post:

Required level : ~Lv40, Lv90 if you want to fight the last boss of the quest (not required).

- Talk to the nopon group in Sarotl marshes.
- Save the nopon in the lizard's men castle. Either come from the main entrance (lot of fights and an unique monster), either from the back door (easier, no fight at all). Too bad, she already talked to them and revealed the secret.
- Go back to Nopons group.
- Go kill a group of 5 lizard's men under the castle, and grab the key.
- Return to castle, there's a secret entrance to the roof behind the king's chair. (Enter from the rear door if you don't want to fight the boss each time)
- Examine the altar,
- Report to Nopon, she says you need a mirror from an old temple on Bionis leg (you already have it. If you don't, go to Bionis's leg, it's located at the west of the lake (at the top of the map))
- Return to the roof in the marshes and place the mirror on the altar. You obtain a Giant's hidden relic : Giant's guts. And now .... run ! You don't have enough levels to fight that :wtf:
- Return to Nopon, she informs you about the Giant's hidden relics and tells you that the quest will continue later on another place of Bionis.

It's too bad that we can already do that quest but don't have the level to fight the spider boss :(
It should be the spider which give the mirror, it would be more logic to fulfill the missions after you beat it only.

Edit: I return to Bionis leg at level 37 and could beat that spider (it was hard!).

Required level : ~Lv40
Required game completion: You need to complete the Eryth sea chapter and be able to go to the top of Makna's forest map.

- After completing the Eryth sea chapter, you go there by plane to head to snowy mountains. Instead of going to the mountains head to the bottom, there's a broken bridge, and two nopon ask you to fix it. find the needed items to fix it.
- Go to the king Agni's tomb on Makna's upper area. This area is available by going on the left instead of going to the snowy mountain.
- Try reading the red stone
- Go back to a Nopon near the fixed bridge, he will told you to go to archeology level in Nopon town, by night.
- That Nopon ask you to find 3 ancient scripts (you should have 2 or 3 already).
  1. (I forgot where I found the first one, it's in Makna anyway).
  2. Follow the river at the start of the jungle level, it's on a cave on the right.
  3. Near the tomb, at the right just before the exit to the snow mountains

- With the 3 ancient scripts, talk to the archaeologist Nopon again to decipher it, and go to the tomb.
- Fight the unique monster (lv46 if I remember).
- Go back to Nopon, she says that you need some oil to open it, it's available in Eryth sea (the robot monsters on middle floating islands, the one with a ball in the center and two arms).
- Go back to Nopon, she gives you the lubricant for the tomb
- Make a trade with her, she has a unique item for the last page of your collection book.
- Go to king's Agni tomb, fight the unique monster again (hell, when we want them they don't re-spawn, and when we hope they are not there, they always re-spawn!)
- Go down and check the real tomb.

- Grab Monado's ruin (New skill) & Warrior's soul (enhancement skill books). (do not use the enhancement skill book if you don't have the skill! but read the Monado's ruin to learn the new skill. About enhancement book, you can directly learn advanced even if you don't have intermediate yet.)

- Go back to the Nopon, she will give you the second Giant's item : Giant's heart and 10 000 exp :).

Requirement: ~Lv90+
You need to have access to Tephra's cave 2 to start this quest.

- Go to the tomb of Balfagar and talk to the scientist. (

I was enjoying this game so much, it was my game of the year, that is until I got to the boss fight at the bottom of the central mining pit.

It. Is. Impossible!

I just keep dying every time I try to defeat it. The only way of killing it is chain attacks to get break, and then attack it, but it's impossible to get a chain attack even because every time I warn a team mate about an attack it just resets the chain link meter. It's impossible. I give up on the game. It's took me a week just stuck on this bit. I'm sick of it.

There's just the one in Colony 9.
Later you'll find a quest to make a portable one, it requires you to do stuff in Colony 6
you have to rebuild it to level 1
You can just teleport back to colony 9 with the leftmost menu option.

whats the deal with the machines that seem to hurt me when i attack them? even when theyre toppled everytime i hit them im loosing life!

There are different kind of counterattack I think.
I don't remember the tutorial very well, but it said that counter attack can be caused/active only when you are attacking a toppled enemy for example
tongue.gif

It looks like that enemy has a counter attack enabled.
You should equip anti-counter gem if it's really bad on your health.

The enemy has a spiked ability,it damages you when you're near them(If I remember right you could get rid of it for some time with one of the monado's ability which gets rid of aura's).

oh, i tryed the aura special but it didnt seem to do much
frown.gif

will try again, or just backing off when its toppled

cheers peeps

Try teleporting to the last lift, lift 3 I think... beat the stuff there to get the gage up, then teleport back to the bottom.. it's how I did it, just make sure you are indeed targeting Xord though, I wasted it a few times on accident. lol...

Just keep trying, you'll do it eventually, also if you're resetting the save to before the cut scene every time you lose for some reason, don't.. cause if you do that you can't teleport down there. >_>; Remember, first break.. then get Reyn to use Wild down. You don't have to get the HP down to 0 either, so once you manage it, you might be ok! Come on, try a bit more cause it's the last time you're gonna have to do this now.

People still having trouble with ether mines boss?
He doesn't really attack that often, and just summons his minions, target those for party gauge build-up.
Then use chain attack on him.

I now started my second run in form of a new game+ and my playtime is something about 100 hours, and still I got so many sidequests that I haven't done yet. never had a game before that kept me interested and busy like that, the world is enormous and there is so much to see. I think this game is one of my favourites of all time, not just on the wii and it will forever have a place in my heart and my memories

I don't know if to start new game + or just to go to my previous save and continue quests on that...
It's just because I've lost all the 200 or whatever I'd already done.. and that annoys me...

Wait wat? New game+ ? Any difference in that from a normal new game? (Im still truggling with last boss, cant hit him in last phase... too low level lol)

I still didn't finish that game.
I'm on level 70, 150H, activated the elevator in agni but didn't go to the boss yet.

I'm waiting to be able to kill the last unique monster of the map to unlock the locked room in the observatory.

I've done almost all missions, but I don't know if I'll make a new game+ or continue with my save to fight Lv70+ monsters on all maps.
if newgame+ is not required, then I'll just complete it 100% with my current save.
