there are must buys. you need to buy skill expansions from shops, so you can further your skills. i haven't needed to buy armor or weapons yet (almost level 60).

yeah, you can only have a group of 3 out of 7 members.

to get the gem furnace, you need to upgrade colony 6 to level 2 and they give you an item to give to the gem crafter in colony 9

I'm up to the eryth sea and just completed the necropole.

In the necropole I found a hidden place (not shown on the map at all, even if you go inside it's not added to the mini/map), and in the chest there was an "advanced skill book", the one to unlock the max level of skills.
Then someone said "advanced skill books can't be bought, they can only be found, but nobody nows where they are."
Yeah, I found one \o/
I guess now I will have to find all books for every skills ... yeah, a lot of work and research, I like challenges

Do you found some in previous maps until you reach the necropole, or is it the very first possible item to find in the game's timeline?
(don't tell me where, just if you found some or not).

I also found a place not shown on the map in the jungle (behind a big frog, there's a cave full of tree saps).
I like the fact that there are hidden area not listed on the map.
I would have like "secret area discovered" for this kind of place instead of the obvious places you can find easilly by looking at the mini-map. That's not secret at all.

Advanced skill books start dropping 65+(?) level monsters give or take 5 levels.

I think I've reached the point where I can go to the final dungeon, so now I'm just doing endgame quests that only get unlocked at that point.

crap, iv wasted loads of skill points on skills not even set...wish id saved them for when i go to the next skill level and just leveled up the skills i use the most

where do i get the skill thingys from to upgrade to next level...just any shop?

You can get em in most shops but each shop has different skill books and ones from the shop only upgrade it partially.
The advanced ones that can't be bought let you upgrade the skills all the way to 10.

Also anyone want to discuss their Character/skill/gem setup?
Kinda wondering about other peoples.

whats the deal with heart-to-hearts? iv tryed loads but only ever seen one! is the game really that huge that i'll be going back past all of them? or are they just extras when iv completed the game?

and money, iv just left nopon village at level 34, i havent spent any money anywhere yet! will i ever have to buy anything?

and is it always 3 players max? will i ever be in a fight with 5 other alies?

is anyone making a walkthrough? id be happy to help where i can

A lot of items you pick up can be given to party members as presents. Depending on the item it will either increase or decrease your rep with the 2 selected party members.

There are skill books you need to buy.

3 is the max party.

In Alcamoth, a guard said "feather heads like mechanical items" and "constructors like sweets".

I tried to exchange sweet to shulk, he didn't like
I tried to exchange mechanical part to Melia, she didn't like..
ahaha, I guess it's very specific items that I need to share.

It was the first time I tried to offer an item to another party member, I don't like "try and fail/reload save" and "once found, spam it with the same item".
So, I don't offer anything
I'll do that later in the game if I need to.

Since I only remember the gems I put on the characters I use on my main party
I gave Dunban no gems skill linked to Melia's no gem skill also he's naked. His arts are Worldly Slash, Jaws of Death, Peerless, Gust Blade(?), Tempest Kick,Soaring Tempest, Steel Strike, then Thunder.

For Melia I gave her Elec plus VI and Ether up Gems. Her arts are Summon Bolt, Wind, Ice. Reflection, Spear Break, Starlight Kick and Mind Blast.

As for the last Character, it has haste VI(instant maxed haste) Double attack IV x2 for it's weapon.(anyone know what enemy drops crystals with Double attack V?)
It's armor has attack plus V, Agility V, and Ether V and Strength up VI. I don't remember the arts other than Final Cross and Speed Shift and the Regeneration one.

I'm around level 64 now and I have no idea how to get into King Agni's tomb as well as the Hode lair(I've tried talking to Luka) in Makna forest, anyone care to shed some light?

I think King Agni's tomb is only accessible late game like.. prefinal dungeon after doing some quests, Hode Lair... no idea most likely quest area, though i think the monsters behind are only lvl 35 though I'm not sure.

what level was everyone when the killed the guy at the end of the snow level? i think the section is called "sword valley" or similar, theres a cutscene and then straight into the battle...he's around lv45 i think...

i dont wanna say who it is cause it will spoil it for some...

I just picked this up today. I am an hour ten minutes into it and love it! At the part where Shulk and Fiorna go to the Lab for protection from the falling debris.

I'm on my way to the snow mountains. I'm still on the jungle, just beaten the unique monster in King Agni's tomb. I now need oil from the snow mountain to open it, so I'll go there.

I'm level 48, 95H+ of game

I'm always completing all possible mission before advancing.
Especially "timed" mission, as I don't know at which point I would loose them.

I still have some of them though

"Find Orluga pants in the jungle" they never drop that.
"Fight the unique monster from Island #7 in eryth sea", well either it's not there, either I already beat it and it never re-spawned

"find a plant thing for pharmacy in C6", it's said that the item is on C6 but I never found it.I may need a better reconstructed level of the colony. (I'm at 12%)

I'm curious on how to get into King Agni's tomb how did you get in there? (I'm level 65)
