Phil Spencer calls the console "the most powerful console ever made". Featuring 6 teraflops of GPU power and 12 gigabytes of memory, the console is designed to run games in 4K HDR including 4K Bluray playback. It will feature compatibility with all Xbox One accessories and games, running even older games at 4K, using supersampling and anisotropic filtering to make the games look better on 4K as well as 1080p TVs. The system will be liquid-cooled as well. It is also the smallest Xbox yet. The system is set to launch worldwide on November 7th. The price will be $499 USD.

This is not what I want. I want a console that can play
1. Original Xbox games
2. Xbox 360 games
3. Xbox One games

And an exclusive for the console - you don't have to pay to play online.
That's what would make me wanna get this console. I'm not freaking interested in 4K - and I bet 80% of you are either.

I don't even have a 4K TV

what i dont get it they dont have a single exclusive title for the console, every game also works on original xbox so unless you really want 4k why would you pay 499$ fr the same exact games but in 4k? there is zero exclusives for the one x that the normal one cant play.

I though it would be the "S-Xbox", much more appealing.

This is good news for support of old xbox one, but I fear we will have to pay extra for the games with scorpio support.

yeah i was amaze when he announced some games will have "free" 4k support lol does that means devs will start charging money for an upscalled code to 4k? every game upscalled to 4k is free on ps4 pro, why would people pay for a patch? i mean its not dlc or anything is only a 4k patch ...

Well, I didn't even think about a "trading" option.
I would probably go for that, but not paying $400, more like let me trade it and I pay $300, and I am in. (I could probably sell it for 150 anyway, but PITA)

I think it's worth the $500 because I can't imagine it being unable to run a specific game in the foreseeable future but I'm not buying it since I plan to stick to 1080p for a long time and would rather spend that money on a platform that would give me access to even more games like Nintendo Switch since I already have a XB1 but that's me.

All in all I feel even happier for the guy who never had a Xbox or even a current gen console and can just buy this baby, subscribe to EA Access and XB Game pass and instantly have loads of games to play on such a powerful hardware for around $500. Many games shown really sparked my interest as well.

So apart from having to pay to play online this console is actually everything you want, with the bonus of supporting 4K for when you eventually do have a 4K TV and wished the console would support it.

"X Box One X"
...one X... there are three X's.... that's more X's than exclusives!

I think what he meant was 'true' backwards compatablilty on the system (so all physical releases for OG Xbox, 360 and current One games all run natively)... not the drip fed emulation of 'select' titles that Microsoft thinks is acceptable.

I am a bit confused now - it says that Forza 7 will release with the launch of Xbox One X in November, but for Xbox One / Win10 in October.
Will Xbox One X get separate versions of the game, like a 4k/60fps Xbox one X version and a "standard" Xbox one version?

It is the same version, they said "it releases in october, but when the XBX releases in November you will be able to enjoy it enhanced"-
All the games are the same version, also Forza Horizon 3.
The most you will have to get (probably) is a free automatic update from the network with better texture packs and some new code, but the disk is the same.

Read the first page and the last page.

I would have dumped the entire budget for designing this "console" to make exceptional, exclusive games for the X1. Next, I would have made an external motherboard add-on to X1 that you could swap PC parts into or just make an outright gaming "consoleputer", Xbox PC. I know they have cross-platforming for some games, but imagine being able to match-make on all of your X1 games and PC games from one console.

Are you so broke that you can't afford $5/mo for 4 games and discounts and stuff like free play days that more than make up for it?

This "pay to online" rhetoric is plain bickering, I have a PC and I'll always be subscribed to PS Plus AND Live Gold for the subscription games alone. If you bought a new console with no plans on gaming on it regularly you're wasting money and no wonder you're too broke to afford $5/mo.

This... hell you would spend more than that just getting one basic McD menu. You can't be so broke.

dude. I'm a student. Sure it's not much if you have a job, but you don't understand my situation.
For example I want to play 2 new games each year > 70$+70$ = 140$ and boom :) now I have to pay another 60$ just to play online :) ridiculous.
Now imagine I would have a Sony console and a Microsoft console = 100$ each year JUST to play online. Dude this is too much.

But you get 4 new games each month, and from time to time they don't suck.
So you have your share to play there, it is like a godsend if you are so broke actually.
Also you get cheapass discounts on old games, perhaps if you have big monetary restrictions you should play games when they are a little older, say two to three months they go down quite a lot.

So now you're up to $20 a month if you want to buy two new games a year AND be online on two consoles. If $20 a month is too much to meet your very basic gaming needs... I would suggest a new pastime. ;)
