Am I the only person here who cares that they didn't actually delay cuphead for once and gave it a September release? Minecraft console is finally getting servers and crossplay after how many years? That took way too long. Also original Xbox games on Xbox one I felt was a pretty big stab at Sony. Other than that it was pretty meh.

Ooh, I just read that Sony consoles will not be getting crossplay or servers for minecraft. It looks like Xbox one, Nintendo switch (which really surprises me), windows ten and pocket editions. I guess that means Sony still is full of themselves and won't do cross play with the dirty peasant consoles. (Remember what happened with rocket league crossplay?)

It may not be the last time this happens.

Because currently SE FF 14 director is talking with both MS and N in order to bring FF 14 to both systems which again means that cross play would need to occur.

At least they added Minecraft servers, because the whole thing of adding people as friends and only being able to have 8 people in an online game is a pain.

[One automatic merge later. Opps.]

One thing: Large worlds on Switch.

Something is better than nothing. I'm sure there will be some form of limitations.
Actually, forget what I said
I've seen a post here on Mashable

The cross-play capabilities are only possible because Better Together converts the Switch and Xbox One versions of Minecraft over to the Bedrock Engine. It's the same software foundation that powers the Windows 10, virtual reality, and Pocket Edition releases. [...] The Bedrock shift means console players will see another significant change: infinite worlds. The original PC version of the game procedurally generates a world without borders, but all of the console releases to date feature constrained play spaces.
Expect a lot of hype

Xbone X has gotten me pretty hyped. Definitely a day one purchase.

Also if Microsoft do cross play with Nintendo on more games, my PS4 might just be sucking up dust.
Cross play is just awesome.
