It rrod, has nothing to do with xbox updating on a regular flashed xbox 360. There is however a update, and new games are no longer safe until LT+ firmware comes out for the dvd drive and games are patched to ssv3 when needed.
Most likely fixed before, with either a bad reflow, or a x-clamp fix with the overheating method.
