Xbox 360 E Model 1538 no power

My xbox 360 e stopped turning on, bought a new power supply and it held on for a few more months and now nothing. Opened it up to clean it up and re-paste and still nothing. I have an oem power adapter from another xbox and tried it out but when I click the button nothing happens. I know its not the power supply but does anyone know what it could be. I want to check the board with a multimeter but not very familiar with exactly where to place the probes to look for continuity.

Or do you think this is a lost cause and am just better of buying another console?

I'd buy a new one, they're pretty cheap.

Yea I thought so. It was my first ever console so its just me being sentimental and trying to see if I could revive it. Guess I may have to just let it go. thanks.

Ahoj, mám podobný problém. xbox je pod napětím, ale nereaguje na zapnutí. Hodnoty na RF modulu měřím dobře, ale po stisknutí tlačítka napájení klesnou hodnoty na 0. Je to normální nebo je někde na desce zkrat? Není nic vizuálně poškozené.

It was in the living room and my brother was the one that would play it. It stopped working and so I bought a 3rd party power supply and it began to work again! Then he continued to play it and I want to say like a couple weeks to a month later it just would not turn on at all. tried an oem power supply and even that did not work on it (the oem power supply does work as I used it on a different 360).

When I opened it up it was super clean, almost no dust buildup what so ever. I just am not familiar with the motherboard enough to see if its possible power not reaching somewhere.
