i actually found 2 while searching for a shiny charmeleon. the hunt is still on...

How long did it take you to find a shiny in the friend safari?

it's random. a shiny frogadier took me 10 hours, shiny ditto took me 5 minutes (lol), shiny ponyta in 4 hours...

edit: just found me a shiny charmeleon. i say 2 hours of searching today.

Like Basher11 said, its pure random. The ponyta took me 24 random encounters. The swirlix took me 15 mins.
Tangela took me 30 mins, and frogadier took me 3 hours.

Im now searching for a quilladin.

Also I think I will get another braixen safari, so I wont get another shiny ponyta lol

I've even tried that. My chains end after like 5 or 6. And I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right too.

you can try hordes too. the only 2 shinies I got on my life are from hordes. one Murkrow and one Spinda and both of them while EV/level training.

Yesterday, found 2 shiny dedennes, traded one for a shiny poliwhirl (dont need 2 dedennes >_>) and just found a shiny luxio just now!

Chain Fishing is pretty epic!
You can consider using Encounter O-power (not sure if it works with fishing though).
my "technique" is to stare at the screen. the moment the bubble appears I press and hold A immediately.
Extreme focus is required.

My next Flawless Shiny I'm aiming for is Dedenne!

no its possible. i found 2 shiny ponytas and 2 shiny dedennes.
