ah shinys i remember all the soft resets ive done for a shiny starter on emerald as well as shiny legendarie's

to this date i don't have the save anymore lost the game and had to replace it. if i did have the save ya sure as hell should know id still have the pokemon

I caught a shiny Shelmet on the weekend, but it was on Black 2, while I was waiting for X to arrive. I'll be trading it over along with my shiny Crobat at some point.

i remember my first shiny pokemon. it was a gastly in pokemon crystal at night.
i cough it at the patch of grass above the Ruins of Alph near Violet City where sudowoodo block the path.
till this day hunter is my favorite ghost pokemon

Caught a shiny absol a few weeks ago, really want to transfer it along with my shiny Quilava. Right now I am "trying" to chain shinies with no luck so far..

havent played that much pokemon really, but am currently playing xy atm.

Is there anything special about encountering a shiny that i should know?
like does it alert you that your fighting a shiny or does some special music play?
wanna know incase i do encounter one and not kill it by accident lol.

The pokemon gets some glitters, and some have really different colour palettes.

Hopefully its noticeable to me, since i dont really have all the exact colors of every pokemon memorized, especially the newer ones.

But im guessing its hard to get shinies, is their any different ways to make them appear more frequently?
Like whats the "Masuda method" Riyaz is referring to?

I usually prefer Gen 1 pokemon and some from Gen 2-3.

The Masuda Method is when you have two pokemon breed from a different region. For example a pokemon from Japan, and a pokemon from america. This multiplies the chance you receive a shiny by 6. So instead of 1/8192 you get a chance of 1/1356. This also lets you 'choose' the shiny pokemon. I have have a japanese ditto which I use for breeding.
