Are you using Windows 10 ? and which SD card are you using?

I just tried to load Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze done through Wii U USB Helper. Its copy to SD report said OK for both the game and the update.

However I got a "Install of title 00000000-00000000 failed. Error: not a game, game update, dlc, demo or version title" message again in WUPInstaller.

I tried to install it 3 times and got the same error message.

All the files appear to still be on the SD card and the total size looks to be correct for the games files at 10.8GB

Pulling hair out !!

Well I was using the WUPInstaller Y Mod version and I did manage to load some of the games OK, that are smaller in file size, just by downloading them with nusgrabber.exe. But all the larger games seem to fail for me.

I am now using a newer ? Mod WUPInstaller UF V1.1.1 see here.

Thanks

i have been using ymod with no issues hmm so ithink that narrows it down to it either being your sd card or windows 10 but might i ask are you trying to install to rednand or sysnand?

I haven't setup rednand yet as it sounded quite complex to do? And risk of bricking?

So just trying to install none CFW games to the external USB hard drive / sysnand.

I have moved operations to my only other Windows machine, my WHS 2011 file server based on Windows Server 2008 R2, similar to Windows 7. I have installed the Wii U USB Helper program on there now and added a USB card reader device.
Currently copying Donkey Kong again to the newly formatted Sandisk 64GB SD card.

I am sure Windows 10 is causing me a lot of these issues and corrupting data on the SD cards.

i may buy a third SD card perhaps a 32GB Sandisk or maybe a Samsung card ? I am now wondering if these cheaper cards off eBay are legit ones or not. Although the Kingston and Sandisk did come in what looked to be genuine retail packaging.

Thanks

never buy a sd card off of ebay about 90% of them are fake even if they do come in what looks like official packaging you should only ever buy them from well know retail shops and never offline.

Beginning to think you might be right. Think I should buy my next card from PC World or the CO-OP saw some in there.

OK so after the Donkey Kong game and update successfully copied to the SD card using the WHS 2011 file server instead, I tried to install it again on the Wii U via WUPInstaller.

But still getting the error "Install of title 00000000-00000000 failed. Error: not a game, game update, dlc, demo or version title".

I then put the SD card back into the file server which took several attempts before Windows would even detect the card, looking in the game update folder all the files that were in there are now missing. But the 10.8GB of files for the actual game are all still present though.

Seems to be doing a similar thing to what it was doing on Windows 10 with files vanishing off the SD card. So looks like the SD card is dodgy.

Think I will have to buy another card from a known retailer and try again.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I will call Sandisk tomorrow as I still have the packaging see what they say about it ? Just emailed the eBay seller as well asking if they are legit LOL.

@cw-kid that 100 percent sounds like a fake card 1 easy way to find out is to simply download this program to windows and run it if the card is fake it will tell you https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&nv=1&prev=/search?q=H2testw&hl=en&sa=G&rurl=translate.google.ca&sl=de&u=https://www.heise.de/download/product/h2testw-50539&usg=ALkJrhh1Sedk8VO0UB7laKgyyFiSflBufA

I called Sandisk support on the phone they have confirmed the Sandisk 64GB card is counterfeit. I have reported the seller to eBay.

I have also contacted Kingston, I am waiting for them to tell me if the Kingston 32GB card is also fake ?

Seems I have learnt a lesson here, I wasn't aware there would be fake cards. Will go buy a Sandisk card from PC World now.

Thanks

We have Donkey Kong installed now, I bought a genuine 64GB Sandisk micro SD card from PC World and the installation worked perfectly fine !

I´ve bought authentic, 100% certified Kingston MicroSD cards and they don´t work.
On the other hand, all SanDisk media worked like a charm! I have a 64GB class 10 and a 16GB class 4, both working without errors.

@Marko76 this utility may be useful for you, uTikDownloadHelper. It will help you to download titles from "N" and their patched tickets too.
Do a search on google with that title. And also search for "Wii U Title Keys" to gather the address of the master key pages... I can´t post it here, sorry!

SO buying a new sd card solved all the issues for you? I have just bought a new 32gb in the hopes of playing xenoblade and having the same problem.

Well, looks like I'm just having the same problem. I'm trying to install Xenoblade downloaded from USB helper and can't get it installed (Error : Not a game, game update, DLC, demo or version title), WUP Y mod version 1.3.
But SD card has to be formated FAT32 to run Homebrew channel !
I couldn't apply this format to my 64GB one, because largest FAT32 size is, well, 32GB right ? How did it work ? Does it means exFat format works too ?

The "32" in FAT32 does not mean that only 32GB drives can be formatted with FAT32. It is called "FAT32" because the length of the file is stored in a 32-bit number (or something like that). This is why files over 4GB cannot be stored on FAT32 drives, as 32-bit numbers can only go as high as 4,294,967,295 (about 4GB).

Devices over 32GB can handle FAT32 just fine, its just that Windows' tools don't want to do that. Why Microsoft did this, I don't know. But you can use an external formatting tool (do your research, I use a Mac so I wouldn't know) to format your SD Card if it is over 32GB.

Okay, I just didn't know it was possible because Windows couldn't do it. I'll find some tool to format it to FAT32. Thanks for your help ! I hope this will work
EDIT : Guess the problem is the SD card itself. I'll try to buy a new SanDisk and see if it works, my actual SD card might be fake as well.

Every time I try to install a Wii U game, I always get this error:

"Error: Not a version title or a game update"

How to fix? I used New NUSgrabber to download the game; and added the ticket file within the install folder. Don't know what to do as it seems I did everything right..

TOTAL SOLUTION!!!!!

The problem is actually the name of the folder that contains the game you´re tryng to install... since is there any TM or any R of registered mark, or any else special character as (¨) (´) on any folder name´s character you will not be able to perform a succsesfull installation. So, simply rename the game´s folder without any special character and voilá! That worked for me in every single game I was tryng to install and showed errors.... Greetings!
