Hardware Wrong year on CPU?

Was looking at upgrades for my tank PC, meaning a Penryn processor with 800 MHz FSB (which were a 2008 product line)...

... but apparently they are all marked '06? Why would that be so?

Nah (but thanks for the link anyway as searching intel's website sucks, at least for drivers), I was just wondering why 2006 is written on the chip itself when it was first made in 2008

with ebay i would be extremly cautious because there is always thoose fake gpus and even processors
but since the 06 is next to the C, i would believe it's the copyright year, maybe the year intel probably registered the copyright of either the cpu, the family name or so..
