Two emummc? I would just use autorcm to maintain my fuses if need be, this is even more work than just using autorcm.
He/She meant 2 emunand partitions.

Yeah, that's more work than just using autorcm. Best solution is either to use autorcm or burn the fuses.He/She meant 2 emunand partitions.

But what is the use of preserving fuses? Just for a small chance that cold boot becomes available one day?In your case Trinket M0 is the best solution when it come to no dongle or computer, you can still preserve the fuses.

So my three options are 1.semi-bricking my switch(auto RCM does this by corrupting a byte of BOOT so it launches into RCM) 2. Opening up my switch in order to solder a peripheral onto it 3. Burning my fuses, switch works normally, and boot to emunand for backups using a jig with a dongle. Is my assessment correct?
I am leaning towards burning my fuses. If you don't like payload dongle, or computer than modchip is your route, with a trinket along with autorcm and autoboot you tell the switch to boot into specific payload.

Edit: I am not seeing any 1.0.0 switches for 700$. Is this a one time thing or does it consistently go for 700$?
Mine isn't brand new. How much does a used one usually go for?unpatched v1 switch brand new are like $600, which firmware 1.0.0 unit goes for more money.

Mine would still be unpatched. Only thing I would lose is the ability to downgrade.V1 unpatched tablet around 200ish on ebay.
This way you can:Two emummc? I would just use autorcm to maintain my fuses if need be, this is even more work than just using autorcm.
It isn't worth it to me. Seems like people are pretty split on this issue. This way you can:
- turn your Switch off
- don't need to inject payloads
- play online
I think it's worth the extra work.
You can play online with an emummc...I used to prevent my fuses from burning but since emummc is a thing and you can install a chip on the switch being able to dual boot to play online stuff like splatoon and then switch to emummc to play homebrew is the best so I stopped caring about fuses. No real benefit on keeping them without burning except to restore to a previous version but I really don't see the need to.
Not a good idea if you have installed NSPsYou can play online with an emummc...
I think they have 2 emunands. One for installed NSPs and one that is totally clean. Just seems a bit redundant to have two emunands if you ask me. Might as well either autorcm or burn the fuses. Not a good idea if you have installed NSPs
