Since I am kind of getting bored of Nintendo DS homebrew, I am deciding whether instead I should make a Wii App Studio. So, I am leaving it up to the community to decide whether I should.

If a lot of people say that there should be, I will, if not, I will just continue on with my other software I am making at the moment.

Well, some people are saying yes and some people are saying no. I don't know yet.
It would make sense for you to take the Wii route since there already is a Gamemaker for DS. My experience making a Wii app with Lua was ... ok I guess. It would have been better if the error reporting wasn't in French.

Lua's pretty fun overall, but I think you could do something better, RCM.

Well, actuall DS Game Maker has been slowed down for some bit(people for some reason hate it now

).

I just want a change from the Nintendo DS homebrew and go onto Wii homebrew. Besides, the Wii has more powerful systems.

Edit: Why do 33% of the users not want one? I wonder...

I say - screw the purists.

It's a GUI like any other.
I don't really know what you meant by that, but okay.
It seems we have more votes for yes or no. I need a few more votes to make my decision.

Isn't James Garner working on a Wii Game Maker as we speak (DarkFlow), also compatible with the DS, Android and the PSP? It's raining Game Makers lately.

As long as your creation supports simple, everyday C/C++, go for it.

Honestly, I'd like both. They'd both be very interesting to try.
We already have at least two "Gamemaker" style development programs for the DS already and none for the Wii. I hope the poll is a victory for a Wii Gamemaker because of that fact.

Keep in mind that the DS has been replaced by the 3DS so a lot of people see the DS as a legacy system and are hesitant to develop for it. The Wii is still current (and a hell of lot more powerful)-- at least for another year.

The Wii Game Maker that James Garner is making, I don't know what is going on with that. I heard he discontinued the development of that since it was such a hassle to make a stable environment for all the consoles he was going to add to it.

Edit: Well, I got an emulator that works to emulate the games.

Wii Game Studio says "Hi".
Then Wii Game Studio says "Good bye". That project discontinued a long time ago.

Yeah, the website domain of the project has expired also.

Well, 5 more yes votes and I will be making it.

Just to test the emulator, I used some code and compiled it to get this. Warning, though it must use OpenGL:

I still don't get why the Dolphin developers didn't include all the files needed. It was a pain to find them all.

Hmm...Since no one else is voting, I may just begin development.
