Hi everyone

Not posted on here in a while but thought I would raise my concern as im getting itchy feet about it now.

Last week i found out about the Sky3ds flash cart after a friend sent me a link to it. Anyway after doing some investigation in to it etc I decided to go for it and place my order for one.

I went on to sky3ds's official website and checked out there resellers.

I had a quick look around and opted to use the website sky3dsuk.com as it said it was a uk based reseller and would arrive with 2-4 days.

I went ahead and made the payment and literally within minutes my money had been taken and the item had been marked as dispatched... This was at 2:00am.

I gave it a few days and still hasn't received the card. I decided to drop them an email... To which I got no reply. Since then I have sent four other emails asking for details of the item that was dispatched and a note so I could track it... No response.

A week later and I've still not heard anything nor have I received anything. I'm quite worried now and feel I've been put in a position where I may have been scammed.

Has anyone bought from there before? Also how should I go about it trying to get my £72 back. Also I'm really annoyed that sky3ds have just released a new version so I would like to now hold on till I get get it.

Since you have tried contacting them several times and no response has been given, you should try contacting your bank and try to a do charge back.

Have you ever done this before? Is this something that can be done quickly? I was told by a colleague at work I would have to give details of the item? How do I tell them I was buying something that could actually be deemed illegal?

you say "excuse me bank i bought something unawares that it was illegal, i would like to cancel the transaction".....but the truth is most "uk based" flashcard sellers are rarely uk based, occasionally they have a couple in stock in the UK, but no flashcard seller in their right mind would store hundreds of items that could be confiscated at the drop of a hat in the UK, 95% of orders will be shipped from china

The card I've purchased is a blue button... However I now want the orange button. Are you saying you bought it last night?

its a card reader for micro sd cards?

speaking from my own experiences, I ship at all times of the day and night... sometimes just minutes after an order comes in.
are you sure your emails are going through to them (i.e. your emails are from a relatively common email system like outlook, gmail, etc)? are you sure their responses are not in your junk mailbox?

No my emails are going through ok. I've checked my junk / spam folders and there's nothing there.

Do you think I might be getting wound up for no reason? Like you say it may come from chine (however that's false advertising on their site)

Just tell them that it is card reader for micro sd cards, show them a couple of pictures, you plug your micro SD card and can read files from it, people at the bank won't have an idea what it really does.

honestly i would wit a little longer before pulling the rug, but your right to come get a second opinion on here, see if anyone else has dealt with them and if anyone else has had similar poor email support but still recieved their item, as for the false advertising, yeah it is, but unfortunately if everyone else is pulling the same "UK BASED" BS you kinda have to or nobody orders from you as they are tricked by other resellers claiming to be UK based, wait and see for other people who have dealt with them positive or negative before making up your mind :)

Don't let this discourage you. I was purchasing my Gateway cards from someplace. They claimed " Not from China and fast shipping. " . Better believe those were both wrong. They said 5 day shipping. Here arrives my package in approximately 3 weeks. Also the bank statement showed it was purchased and shipped from China.

I don't know... When someone takes my money and tells me the stuff I'm paying for it's going to arrive in 4 days, they better have a reason why it didn't arrive after a week, if they fail to respond to several e-mails and no information whatsoever has been provided I'm taking action.

If you wait too long, the bank may not even help you at the end.

yeah seems like the usual practices of that site, but all the threads on here about them do seem to end up with the buyer receiving their cards and very poor customer service, i think maybe next time do your research on here first, its the easiest way to see a pattern of how they treat their customers, but in that example it took about a week to arrive in the UK, someone else ended up waiting 2 months.....i would say give it a week or 2 and learn from the experience to research your seller before you buy :P

i can tell you most retailers that claim they're based outside of China really are not. always ask for a return address and a phone number when in doubt... at least you know they have some contact point in the country they're selling in.

seems they're shipping from China though... give it a few more days and if nothing is at your doorstep go to the bank. not sure how it works in the UK, but in the US we have a good amount of time to do a charge back on a purchase

I agree with this post. Communication doesn't seem to be their strong suit.

yeah you will usually have 30 days in the UK but it can vary from bank to bank or even what type of account you have

Hardly anybody sells piracy related products in the UK and if they did, they have balls of steal. UK trading standards have majorly clamped down on piracy over the years and gone are the days of buying copies, modding machines, blah, blah in computer fairs, etc.

Never believe (UK stock) on a website for such things, as it's bullshit. Just look at Playmods, as their domain name is .co.uk, so some would assume they ship from the UK, yet they ship from Cyprus.

I think 3 weeks is a more realistic ETA for your card. If you look at the whois for that site, it's based in Hong Kong.

Just a quick update. Despite not having any communication from the website in question I received my sky3ds card and works perfectly with no issues. I'm really pleased as I thought I was going to have to get my money back somehow.

I have bought cards like this before and had no issues before however this one just seemed different.

I won't be buying from this site again but I'm glad I got my item.
