Hacking Working with .bfres.mc files

Hello. I have a couple .bfres.mc model files from the Tears of the Kingdom RomFS and would like to extract them into files I can view and manipulate.

I've tried Switch Toolbox's `Batch Export Models` option. It says the process completes, yet there is nothing in the output folder (I also used voidtools Everything to search my pc for the file, it's not there).
I've also checked out aboood40091's BFRES-Tool but it only seems to work on .bfres files without the .mc suffix

Does anyone know a way to make some progress with these files? I'm also having some issues with the .bwav audio files but that's a topic for another thread

I am not qualified to say much whatsoever, however, from a bit of deeper reading it looks like the ".mc" file hasn't been cracked to work with yet. Considering how long it took for botw to get mods really going, it might be a short while before we can edit those files yet. When? I'm not sure. Maybe it'll happen faster because of more emphasis on modding it.
