Moonshell2 has some decent editors.
I like DSOrganize as well, very basic but just that: very basic, no frills that get in the way.

If you use DSOrganize get 3.1129 or whatever it is, not 3.2.

if you use the DOS emulator dsx86 there is a text editor in 4DOS I think

At least if you use 'volkov commander' in DOS you can edit text files

I personally think Moonshell is the way to go if you need to edit .txt files.

you can use moonshell 2.10

just hold the 'A' when opening a txt file
and you'll have many options and open the option text edit

Many thanks..Now how do I disable the sound on the txt editer, it's annoying
