Hacking Wood R4 Suggestions

If it's an issue with just that game, simply disable soft reset for that game. Can't say it's ever been an issue for me. Changing the key combination would get tons of posts complaining that Soft Reset no longer works.

Rename __rpg directory to __r4 or __r4ds

Another button combination for the soft reset because i have my L button damaged. Or the option "change combination" for each person to choose what you want.

I think TK made a valid point about the directory. It just creates more work for the developer with little perceivable benefit.

I never quite got into the soft reset thing. It seems to be just as easy to slide the power switch on and off. The DS boots in a couple of seconds. I don't think YWG would implement your soft reset idea. I'm no programmer but I would imagine it would take a reasonable effort to map different key combinations to soft reset and then be able to change the code on the fly.

How about title editor because it shows DS Program file, why not have a coding in so if its a certain file name it will show something different such as Lemmings DS or the ipod clone

You know how ordinarily, holding B on a DS/Lite auto-boots the GBA game you've inserted?
Well because the R4 flashcart automatically boots into the installed firmware, it would be nice if Wood R4 automatically booted the GBA game in GBA mode, when B is held during power-on.

You can always change the ways files are listed. That way, it reads the name you've given the file, not the unknown header. Or, there's always Romer 2 or something for you.

I'd personally like a new gbatemp only theme for the next release

Your best bet is to contact him. I'm assuming the reason Wood is on the R4 and Acekard RPG is because those are the carts he has. It would be hard for him to code for a cart which he doesn't have.

For example in the readme it says Wood only supports the standard 3-in-1 expansion pack, because that's what he has.

If you contact him and offer him a free DSTT, then he may be willing to adapt Wood for it. But obviously I can't speak for him, he may have no interest in porting Wood to the DSTT.

Thank you for advising. But just I think it's not easy to contact him by oneself. Otherwise, instead of posting a post, he might see it, if he is interesting to do it.
