Kernel does not equal firmware.
The Better question would be, does my flashcard work on the 3DS and yes the R4iDNS does work on the 3DS and does run Wood.
The 3DS does not have any effects on Wood and Wood does not have any effect on the 3DS

No it won't do shit.
If a flashcard can't work on a DSi, it won't a 3DS.
Invest in a Supercard DSTwo

The R4i Gold cart can work on the 3DS just fine.

All modern flash carts support up to 32GB MicroSD cards.
