Iceberg5 don't forget as the hackmii installer is loading the press 1 to continue screen it is testing your system for compatibility to see whether you can install bootmii as ios or boot2 you can check your SD card for the log after the installer has finished

i opened the RAR file you sent me. and i copied over the 2 files to the root of my SD card "boot.elf" and "bootmini.elf"

ok, it's 9:53, i selected the "bootmini.elf" file and now my disc drive is blinking blue.

10:02 and it's still blinking. the tv is showing the file browsing screen btw. i'm also trying this on a regular SD card (not SDHC).

10:24 and the same thing. not sure how long i should keep this going.

Didn't my link come with a bootmii folder as well?

I'm not at home to check now but I'm pretty sure it did. Your probably using your bootmii folder that you used forever.

maybe the issue is the files within your bootmii folder. They might work to boot into bootmii but after that they can't do anything.

Try the bootmii folder I linked you and see if that makes any difference.

it did come with a bootmii folder. i didn't transfer them over because last time nothing happened when i turned on the Wii. i'll try with that folder copied over.

also, i let the Wii stay on over night. and it didn't do a thing.

you can also try formatting your sd cards as well as that might help the issue. Also make sure they are not write protected.

Heres something to try format your sdcard to fat32 32KB cluster size you can do this with a usb reader and easus partition master no problem by creating a fat32 partition then formatting it to a cluster size of 32KB then put all the files icebrg5 gave you and you should be fine

on this other SD Card i'm trying, it's a 2GB non-SDHC. i read somewhere about trying a non-SDHC. i did go through a FAT32 install within Windows first before transferring files over to it. i also copied over the "bootmii" folder and i was very relieved that BootMii started up. i selected the SD card icon, and then selected "bootmini.elf" from the list. nothing happened at first, but then my TV went half green, half static again. and the disc drive isn't blinking blue this time.

8:49, process started
9:09, still the same screen
9:19, no visible progress

going to keep this going for however long.

Follow my instructions to the tee from my previous post see if that helps I know on bootmii as ios 254 32kb cluster size runs better than a 64kb cluster size. 64 has less hops to make than 32 so it slows down a bit sometimes it even stops responding

i downloaded EaseUS Partition Master, and i don't see an option to format FAT32 and 32kb cluster size. i only have options for 512 bytes, 1kb, 2kb, 4kb, 8kb, and 16kb.

also, downloading this from C-Net totally fucked with my browser and all the extensions it added even though i said NO.

EDIT: i can format to FAT and with 32kb cluster size. is that what you meant?

EDIT2: i ended up just formatting it to FAT and 32kb cluster size. BootMii started up fine. and i selected "bootmini.elf". i got the half green, half static TV again, and now i'm waiting (10:02)

C-net was a bad choice in server download on your part cnet still has direct links available but their hard to find in-between all that text but yes with Esause p m you have to format to fat32 then format it again to set a 32kb cluster size

Windows application.
Usage is included in the html and txt files.
( Cannot express how much value Giantpune works has had for me, awesome, awesome job! )

For your sd card formatting use this:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/

Any questions, PM me.
If this does not work your Wii probably cannot be fixed via software methods.
If you have Bootmii in boot2 and no other hardware isseus, it should work 100%.

Afterwards, remod your Wii using modmii by XFlak ( Windows application )
http://modmii.zzl.org/ this is the ultimate and mandatory way of softmodding your Wii.
It's safe (no online wii connection needed), easy ( if you can follow instructions ) and the most up to date.
XFlak did an awesome job on this

After you installed it, use modmii clssic and tell it you have never modded your Wii before ( selection 1 )
Beforehand you can set it to use the latest ( and best ) Beta d2xcios from the cios tabs ( 4 ) and enter BETA to set the beta settings.
Follow it's ( your personal ) instructions and follow them word by word.

Afterwards you should have a lean, clean, perfectly softmodded, Wii machine.

Did you even read the first post he can't do anything besides access bootmii as. Boot2

i left the Wii on over night to hope for the best. but this morning it was still showing that green and static screen.

i'll try and see if i can format the SD card to the correct specifications.

i have a USB multi-card reader. i'm trying to format my SD card into FAT32 with 32kb cluster right now.

EDIT: ok, i did the first format into FAT32. and then tried to format again to select 32kb, but that option is there. it only goes up to 16kb. i'm trying this configuration (8:53) got the green static again.

I know this may seem odd but try a microsd card in a microsd-sd card adapter and use the USB reader to format it.

I use a microsd card in my wii and it works better than an sdcard in most cases

for micro SD, all i have extra is a 16gb micro SDHC. i was able to format this into FAT32 with 32kb cluster just fine. got the green static.

Yes.
Seems you do not understand on how bootmii works.
The provided tool will let the OP format his NAND dump and rebuild it from scratch.
The tools I provide are the ONLY WAY TO FIX HIS PROBLEM.
His Wii's filesystem is broken.
No other method will work, because he cannot install the HBC or run other apps.
Not can he install anything via the Bootmii.
His file system is broken and apps cannot write to his nand.

After following my help:
The Freshly made NAND is installable via bootmii, and will fix his Wii 100%, granted there are no hardware faults.
The tools I linked to were originally developed to wipe any exsisting date on the Wiis nand en installing a fresh one.
All logs, errors , history etc will be wiped and your Wii will be like you picked it up from the store and boot it up like a brand new one.

These are advanced tools but , seeing the OP has Bootmii in boot2 ( very lucky! ), he's 99% safe.
1% unsafe if he does not act upon any errors during the process, so basicly 1% unsafe because of ( possible )usage errors.

Please do not commit on things you do not understand or, have tried yourself.
I am not trying to take over your effort on helping him but all the things you present him with haven;t helped.
Seeing this problem ( dealt with a few of these allready ) I know how to help him.
This is all I want to do, Help him.

You seem as you know what you are doing

I only have bootmii as ios so I can only throw suggestions on things that may be of help
