Actually, I looked up a video on it. It says you can just pry it off with your hands. Then load up Swap, then put in the thingy, move it all the way to the right, that should click something and unlock the disc tray. Gently pull it out, take out Swap, put in the game, push it in, pull the thingy to the right this time to lock it back up, then press load on Swap. Seems really easy.

yup thats right did you actually do it yet.im going to do it when my swapmagic gets here

you guys ought to wait a bit and see how the 1.0 software pans out on the memor32 - it'll provide a "tool free" mod, with little messing around, swapping discs can become a chore, but it's up to you

Meh, I think I'd rather get a Swap Magic. Trust me, the PS2 is basically dead for me, so I'm hoping the Swap will revive my liking for it. I can't wait until God-knows-when till Memor comes out with the new version. I'm an inpatient brat. :3

@Sonic: Nah, didn't do it yet, but at least I know how to xD I'm getting this for Christmas, so I still have a while to wait. :]

well the memento firmware (used on the memor32) is supposed to be out either this week or next week to ver 1.0 which will fully support ntsc as well as pal

From what I understood, you plug in the memory card and then just put in the DVD. It sounds easy, but I think I'd rather go with Swap, since it's been out longer and it supports basically every game, whereas Memor will update either this week or next, and there's bound to be glitches/non working games.

When I got my PS3, I sold my PS2 to a friend, and afterwards, I found out about the memory card exploit

A while ago, I looked into Swap & HDLoader but decided against them. Would be awesome if that memory card worked on PS3..

Someone needs to find an exploit for the PS3!!

Swap magic is okay, the reason I no longer own a PS2 is because after prolonged use of the "slide card" many PS2's begin to screw up. A friend of mines even developed no need to use the slide card - he could just pull open the disk tray and whack in the backup. The downside to this was that no store bought PS2 game would work anymore....And well after a good few years of free gaming on my PS2 its laser finally died....RIP PS2.

If you have little to no interst in your PS2 and just hope that this will bring a few more months of gaming out of it then best of luck to you. Swap Magic works very well.

for the fat ps2 i suggest using the hdloader.

for the slim ps2 i suggest swapmagic.

but now there is a better solution for both: memor32, no more swapping

I've been using Swapmagic on my PStwo (slim) for...2 years? No signs of being ruined in the least. Works perfect still, Guitar Hero (all games), Kingdom Hearts, etc. all still working like a charm.

The only problem I had was installing the magic tools. The box shaped one had to be filed down the slightest so it would not touch the thingy next to it...make sense?

As far as swap magic on ps2 (fatty), my friend got a flip-top after a short while of using the slider tool. Flip-top FTW!

yeah, I've had my PS2 for about 4 years with no problems whatsoever.

The bad thing I've come to realize though is that PS2 isos are pretty damn hard to find. :\ I must be looking in the wrong places. Well, I did find a place, but there was only a COUPLE games, and they were uploaded into rapidshare into like 60+ parts o__O

just so you know the memento update is now 1.0 and supports both ntsc and pal isos now. it's easily the best option for modding a ps2

I just ordered mine today, I'm so friggin happy! However, I had a last moment change of heart, and I decided to get my Swap Magic 3.6 paired with the Flip Top for the PS2 FAT, instead of the Slider Tool.

The flip top is just like 10 more bucks, and its a lot safer than the slider. Also, since I'm gonna be playing so many games, I bet it gets kinda tiring to have to pry my PS2 everytime I wanna play something different >___>

Got a network adaptor coming for my old fat ps2, Gonna pop in a spare 200gb hdd and enjoy some nice quick game loading. Reminds me of the old xbox days of loading games off HDD
