Hi,

I'm a fresh owner of Wii U. It has games on a External HDD, but no SD Card inside. Also no Homebrew icon on it. I want to place there some new roms.

1 - How to check that type of CFW is installed?

2 - If I prepare fresh SD card and place there for example Tiramisu, I will brick it or will it works?

3 - If I factory reset the consol I'll loose all games on HDD or brick console?

You could see this first....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQbyc5SNkjU
This is the tiramisu exploit guide: https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/tiramisu/sd-preparation

@mrmagicm Don't tell lies, please. Here the correct answers:

2 - Depends on the CFW. Take a backup to be in the save train.

3 - Bricking depends on the CFW, too (there's the fameous CBHC brick). Games on HDD will be lost no matter what.

It's either running CBHC or Tiramisu. If it was modded a long time ago, most likely CBHC. It's pretty easy to accidentally brick your console on CBHC, follow a guide for uninstalling CBHC before installing Tiramisu. You'll temporarily lose the games on HDD while CBHC is uninstalled, but you should get them back once you're up and running on Tiramisu. In the long run you SHOULDN'T lose anything, but it's always a possibility.
