Hardware wires on faceplate

okay so i just bought my wii and my son got change stuck in the disc drive. i went to take the faceplate off to try to get the change out and didn't know there were two red and black wires connecting the faceplate to the wii. so needless to say these wires got disconnected. i bought a soldering iron but im guessing i did it wrong because the wii still doesn't work (i got all of the change out btw) so does anyone have advice on the correct way to solder the wires back onto it? thanks

Those wires should disconnect from the board just below the DVD via a connector. Have the wires come off with the faceplate or has the faceplate come away from the wires?

the face plate has come away from the wires. i didnt know it was like that and when i took the face plate off the wires got ripped out
