well what would happen if i hard reset the system? think it could fix any issues and stay at 9.2?

I used this to downgrade and had a few undowngraded titles (only ones I can remember were mset, whitelist, gpio, dsp, a dummy and amiibo - there was one more too) but I wont ever be using sysNAND anymore so it didnt bother me

Hard reset? You mean format? I don't think that would help, but if you're fine right now, leave it as is - you don't want to mess it up further

Iv had my O3DS using gateway for months so this was just a transition to N3DS. Only important one is GPIO it seems. Something to do with safe mode

When I used safesysupdater, two days after its release (version 0.8) there were many people who already dowgraded and there was not a single report of hard brick, but not even a single soft brick report.

Has this changed? Can you get hard/softbricks with safesysupdater?

No idea. I tried safesysupdater on a friend's 3DS and only got pink dots, no menu.
Then I tried sysupdater (not the safe one) and everything worked (no brick, no problem, first try, he made a hardmod for no reason).

Yep, you can get a soft brick (i had it once before successfuly downgrade).

Hi,

Since some people seems to wait for a safer downgrader, i did one in a few hours. This is a fork of sysupdater, with a few things added which should prevent some errors (wrong region downgrade pack, corrupted downloads...) :

- automatically load update information (needed files, md5) based on your 3ds model and region
- md5 check all the cia update files before downgrading
- can check your update files without actually downgrading

To use it you have to :

- Put SafeSysUpdater.3dsx somewhere you can launch it...
- Put your downgrade pack as usual ("/updates/*.cia")
- Launch it multiple times until it pass the black screen (hax)...
- Pray

• PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HAVE THE SAME DOWNGRADE CODE THAN ORIGINAL SYSUPDATER
• DOWNGRADE PROCESS IS NEVER 100% SAFE
• BE SURE TO BE ON 10.3 BEFORE DOWNGRADING, SEEMS TO PREVENT SOME SOFT BRICK
• SOME TIPS TO PREVENT A BRICK : HERE

Notes:
- If it freeze just after you press (Y) to downgrade or "init ->" more than 1 second, restart..
- The 9.2 JPN package is in fact a 9.1 package, no problem with this..

Changes :

- v08: fix JPN files path..
- v07: finally fixed the input freeze... by removing this second confirmation screen.
- v06: try to fix input freeze... again
- v05: minor input fix
- v04: added japan support (with bad title skipping)
- v03: big improvement in hax success rate
- v02: Add simulation mode to check your update files without actually downgrading
- v01: Removed the config files, just put the ".3dsx" file somewhere and downgrade... and pray.
- v01: Added a CIA version to downgrade from emunand so you don't need to try hard to get the hax to succeed (so it's just for testing/reporting bugs). Testing this will ensure the MD5 for each regions/models (only o3DS/n3DS USA/EUR for now) and downgrade process is correct/working. Thanks for reports !

Happened to me like 5 times, then i gave up and used sysupdater, worked on first try. I'd suggest running safesysupdater checker before attempting this, to make sure all the .cia files' MD5 check

Reporting in with a successful jump from 10.1 to 10.3 and then to 9.2. Now, the fun begins!

How and why did you update from 10.1 to 10.3?
I have a 9.4 that I want to downgrade but want to gather as much info as I need before doing it.

Only way is with sysupdater, and imo it's not worth it, just another chance for some crap to go worng (freeze) and you get a softbrick

It's your call bro. I'm no expert and have only downgraded 2 consoles (both 10.1) so i'm not sure how it is from 9.4 to 9.2, but it just seems to me that the fw means nothing as it'll just erase and install every system title... Maybe the stability for homebrew in some fw is better, but then again, if you're going to pdate to that fw you're still deleting and installing all the system titles with your fw anyways

It simply said an error has occured, please power off. I powered it off, and It won't boot with the SD card in or out. I just bought it today, so I might pack it up and tell gamestop it was defective, but I'd like to not make the drive.

Did you downloaded the right files for your console (like N3ds 9.2U and not o3ds) and used safesysupdater to check the files? Also, if you're on JPN console, you were supposed to delete one .cia. It's wierd that you can't even boot recovery

I'd say remove any file from the SD card that's related to the downgrade (including homebrew files, etc) and try to exchange the console... Or else, did you set up menuhax before attempting this? Can you boot it?
