They fucking said it's userland. Hence why they put it with the USERLAND things in the talk. And why it doesn't need a KERNEL exploit, and not all exploits are fucking equal mate.

However ARM9 exploits are USUALLY grouped together, because as explain it takes 1 syscall to go from userland to kernel on ARM9. ARM9 is the DS/Security processor.

This guy is right, SNShax is a userland permission elevation exploit, using ONLY userland cade we can get access to am:u and downgrade, no kernel involved

Okay, so it might not be a kernel exploit, but it requires some sort of higher priveliges.

Those higher privileges is what the EXPLOIT GAINS.
It redirects 3DS SNS to USERLAND so it can WRITE TO SNS.
SNS can DOWNGRADE apps by being able to REMOVE and INSTALL apps.
With SNS pushed to USERLAND it is under full control by the GPU.

Okay, @Voxel Studios and @Filo97, SNSHAX is privileged userland. It takes Safe Mode and tricks it with N3DS Safe Mode to bump it down to userland.

No. It's ARM11 userland, it just pushes a critical process over to GPU-writable RAM.
