Does one of the known bugs involve music with the CIA version? Main menu loads music just fine, but the game crashes when I try to start a new game on any episode. Checking the log, it appears to be running out of memory. I've tried 2 music packs so far and they're both doing this. Works fine with the 3DSX version, however.

N3DS 10.7, Luma Clock+L2, Atomic Edition GRP

The new versions allocate memory dynamically, thats what's causing the problem. I'll look into it

Here we go again, new version released: https://github.com/masterfeizz/EDuke3D/releases
Yes, it does include a cia. I'm aware of some of the bigger bugs, but if you find something let me know.

Wow, i'm experiencing lots of improvement here! For me loading takes ~5 min instead of 8~ min, and most noticeable, in-game lag is reduced to milliseconds where it would previously hang for seconds when loading new sounds.

Using the .3dsx and so far everything is working great.

Awesome response man, I was wondering if the changes made an impact on loading.

The latest CIA hotfix you uploaded doesn't seem to be working too well for me. I can't load any saved levels without it force-rebooting my system. Sound/music seems to be not working as well. The .3dsx version is working pretty nicely though. No major issues I have found, and saving/loading seems to be quite a bit quicker. Music seems to be working fine without a hitch as well. I haven't tested mods yet, but everything I've messed with so far has been with Atomic Edition .grp.

anyone else find it hard to control with the circle pad?
It seems I'm getting digital strafing inputs instead of analog.
Maybe something odd in my control config?

Duke 3D doesn't handle analog strafing by default, and I haven't changed much of the code to support proper handling of it.

Ah explains that.
Though I could get analog strafing by holding a key down and using the C-Stick (N3ds), guess its disabled without the strafe key down?
At that point though its easier to use the D-pad for strafing anyway and just ignore the circle pad.
If only I could use the circle pad for something else.

Hopefully new solutions will appear as ya go.

Thanks for the reply btw, wasn't sure if it was me or not.

Did you ever figure out the issue that was reported with the menu items and the crashing when music files are present? It happens on both the cia and 3dsx versions.

What music files are you using, and what version of the game? I have been testing the latest .cia on my 2DS and N3DS and they are both working, I thought that I had fixed it.

This DOSENT have to do with the port itself but how the heck do you get past the first room?
What do you mean by the first room? The area you start out in? The environments are destructible, so try shooting vents, barrles, containers, etc. Though if you're having a hard time in the first room, you'll be totally lost in the entire game, haha! :P

Might want to try out a game guide for it somewhere to help you out with the maps. They can get pretty nuts sometimes, so no shame in looking it up!
