Because there are a lot of bugs still needed to be fixed, a CIA build just adds another set of them to be maintained. When I fix the memory leak, I'll start testing a CIA buildWow, I want to play this, why no CIA yet?

Here I am again with a new version: https://github.com/masterfeizz/EDuke3D/releases/tag/v1.0-alpha2
This update fixes the music, it sounds right this time. And also fixes saving and loading.
Yes it does, give it a tryDoes this implement the new touch screen overlay you have been working on? BTW, thank you for the release![]()

ThanksHELL YEAH! Music and saving is working really well in this build. Controls feel nice too. I love the new touch overlay, too. Awesome work, @MasterFeizz. Loading levels still takes a bit, but it isn't too bad. Hopefully we can get a CIA build soon!![]()

On the xml you can specify the working folder, there you can place the necessary files for the addon. You can also use a .def if neededNice work! Music sounds great, although it does seem to have a huge impact on the performance. Lots of lag with the Atomic Edition.
Loading addons through an .xml also works great. But having all files in one directory, and seemingly loading all files at once also affects performance.
e.g. Life's a Beach with music *standalone runs great. But loading it through an .xml, having all files in one directory lags quite a bit in game.
Maybe it's possible to only load the selected addon's .ogg files?
The new overlay is awesome, btw![]()

Oh man, mod support is going to be great! Are these being loaded via xml files through the homebrew launcher?Progress update: I've updated the base code to the latest version of EDuke32, which introduced a new bug where the game doesn't close properly. I've also figured out why it's taking so long for the game to load, it's the sound precaching function; I'm probably going to have to tweak it a little to speed it up. But the best part of the updated base code is...... better mod support:

That's bloodCM, but I've also test Duke Nukem 3D Forever. (Some mods will be unplayable on O3DS due to low framerate)
Yes, they are loaded with xml shortcuts. Mod support is a must have, Quake and Duke3D have so many cool mods that it would be a shame if we couldn't play them.Oh man, mod support is going to be great! Are these being loaded via xml files through the homebrew launcher?
Man, this seriously gets better and better with each status update. Can't wait for a new build sometime soon to fiddle around with! [emoji1]
Wow, awesome job! Hopefully CIA release drops soon
Cheers![]()
Sure, I can do one up for yaAs soon as I fix the shutdown error I'll release a official CIA. I have no experience with 3D banners, so if anyone could give me some pointers... A kick-ass overlay also needs a kick-ass banner.
I've got the model for the base game (and atomic edition), I just need to figure out how to put the model on the banner. But I'm pretty sure people will want custom CIA's for the expansions, so if you want to work on those; Everyone would appreciate itSure, I can do one up for yaI'll try to get you one for tomorrow later today.
