I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking. Your only other post is a picture of a program that doesn't even work in the slightest, and the only thing you have for this is a logo and a couple lines of useless Python code.
and what have you ever done, may I ask?

they posted a screenshot of the nasc code before they lost it on a discord server. yes, jumping the gun on posting it was a bad idea, but this isn't a PoC thread. it says "WIP".

The only thing I've ever done is make a shitty calculator homebrew, but at least I waited until it was finished before I made a thread about it. You can't have a WIP if there's no actual work being done.

cough, there is. they did post that they're working on it again, with autosave enabled. "work in progress" means work is actively being done. there is.

Just because he said he's working on it doesn't mean it's necessarily true. He may very well be working on it now, but he should never have made this thread in the first place seeing as there is zero actual evidence he's done any work.

you're jumping to assuming the worst in people (very common for you)
what would they stand to gain for creating this thread and not actually working on it? a few GBAtemp warnings? the hatred of the community? they won't get "attention," they'll just get a warning point and a thread lock. occam's razor

Well, saying he's creating an alternative Nintendo Network would get him a whole lot of attention praise. I'm not saying he's not planning on at least trying to make this, but he shouldn't have made a thread about it until he had actually done some work. For all we know he hasn't even made anything besides the logo and 2 lines of code. If we're going to go with Occam's Razor here, the simpler solution is that he's just faking it all. I'd suggest we just all stop commenting until this guy gives an actual POC.

I might also add that his GitHib repo also is of him asking for help. So I kinda see this thread as "I kind of know how to do this, can you guys throw me any suggestions you have in order to help me succeed?"
Maybe instead of sitting on your ass and trying to shoot him down, you could give him suggestions, like say "Oh, the altWFC server is open source here, you might want to look at it"

I'm not shooting him down, I'm just saying he shouldn't have made a thread about it without any actual proof. Please stop derailing the thread.

OP, you probably already know of AltWFC, but here are the sources.
https://github.com/polaris-/dwc_network_server_emulator?files=1
Of course the servers will act differently, but I wouldn't doubt they're similar.
However, I don't know any methods of dumping packets, and I think it would require a emulator with networking, right?

It's a WIP. Means he's working on it right now.

Look, I'm not saying this is fake. I just think it looks a whole lot like fake projects like Flipnotehax and Rumblehax. As much as I want this to succeed, it is a little suspicious.

I honestly am skeptical of this too, but I want to at least give him a little positive reinforcement to help him persue his goal.
Although, he's 15 (what his profile says) and when I was that age, they were teaching me Python in CS, so maybe he still needs to learn Python from his class first?
:P

And Im hacking the moon to land on earth in 2034. Its wip, dont judge, i have just made a hello world in bash, but it will happen. I lost conmection with the moon, so, eh, I lost 17449 lines of code.

Tldr dont make thread with no relevant info. It does sound like a huge project so it seems really unlikely unless proven otherwise
