I'm really stumped here been pulling my hair out for hours over this.

I wanted to add new games to my hard drive that works perfectly fine. I plugged the PS2 hard drive into my computer via SATA, opened Winhiip and got a "memory allocation error" when I opened my specific drive.
I've scoured the internet for an answer but it doesn't seem like anyone has had my specific error

the steps I've taken to fix it are, restarting my computer, unplugging replugging, trying a sata to usb cable, running winhiip in compatibility mode, deleting and reinstalling winhiip,

I've also tried it with a 2tb sata hard drive I had lying around. I took the SATA drive and formatted it in UlaunchElf, then plugged it into my PC and got the same memory allocation error. Not sure how to carry on.

Winhiip... that brings me way back! I was using that with an IDE connection to whatever computer I had then. Probably was using Windows XP on that computer. What version of Windows are you using? Has it worked before using your system, and then suddenly throwing this error now?

Use HDL BATCH. Winhiip is outdated and quite buggy. As for your issue the program requires admin rights.
