Homebrew windows 3 in standard mode

Dsx86 is almost ready to run windows 3 in standard mode

Does anyone know if windows 3 can task switch between a game and a windows app like wordpad?

I want to look at the manuals to dos games while im playing them
Some games have quest logs and copy protection codes that require you to read at the same time as you play the game
A lot of dos rpg's need mapping so a text editor can be used for that also.

What you are asking for is FAR beyond anything DSx86 can handle. Some flashcarts allow you to open txt files while playing a game (usually in an "enhanced" mode menu) but that is the closest you are going to get.

As far as I can remember, the answer is no. You would be able to switch between different windows programs running, but not DOS programs.

3.x can switch between open windows, so if he/she is running a DOS game through the command prompt, he/she can do that. The problem comes from DSx86 and if the hardware can handle the workload. Remember, DSx86 emulates a x86 system. That eats up a lot of processing power as it is. Add Windows on top of that and you'll be lucky to get 5fps (guess-timate).

No, it word-wraps (which is likely worse for maps).

No. They're standalone pieces of homebrew.

Cyclods can do it and it doesn't word wrap (1 txt file per .nds file though).
