Getting a new old computer for $50 pretty soon and would like to know if it will run Left 4 Dead. I don't think it will but i'd like a second opinion.

P4 2.8ghz
Radeon 9250 256mb gfx card
1gb ram

don't want really want to upgrade.

Don't listen to what the details say. I got L4D running on our crappy school PCs which are 5 years old (at were shit back then too). It didn't look pretty, but it was playable.

That may be true, but just by adding a slightly better GPU it wouldn't have to look like crap at all.

I'm just trying to prove that the back of the box requirements aren't normally very accurate.

Personally, if I were him, I'd spend a little money on upgrading my PC. L4D is less than £7 on Steam at the moment, so the money he's saving there he could put towards a new GPU.

Mmm all this talk makes me wanna build a gaming rig...

I already knew the specs, but the specs of the new pc are mighty close to that so i just wanted a second opinion.

also i don't really see the point in upgrading if the rest of the system is still sub-par.

shatteredscreens, the game would take a week to download off steam... (256kbps intarweb)

i'll just have to get by without zombie killing.
