So yea,

I was thinking,i just modded my XBOX console with edited drivers(usb)

Like if you do the same with some USB-MIC drivers and let the wiispeak install that then we may have a possible method of using it!
(Edit the Class_id and DEV_id!)(look the howto for making a XBOX-USBPEN cable and how to use it to see what i mean!)

wiispeak on comp would be AWESOME... online chat... with no headset or silly looking mic. needed

wiispeak looks cool too

So who's good at writing drivers?
i was thinking of editing the Device_ID in the driver to the Dev_id stored in WiiSpeak, and ofcourse the Manufactor_ID to the Man_ID in the WiiSpeak, this could be easily done if someone has a USB Mic Driver.

Maybe if someone has one i will look into it!

Have you tried:

a) Trying generic windows drivers

b) Checking windows update

c) Opening up the wiispeak unit to see if there is some form of identification on the chips (i.e manufacturer/chipset) and see if the manufacturer has some generic drivers. Like what people did with the nintendo USB wifi adapter.

From a purely technical standpoint, you're better off buying the Playstation Eye if you want a headset-less method. It's tried and tested, and it works. Plus, it doubles up as a high-quality webcam. Wii speak isn't too much cheaper then the PS Eye, either.

if somebody had an USB Mic driver for me that i could work on,thatd be just great

Go to one of the bigger companies(like logitech), go to the procut page and look for the USB Mics, and then download the driver.

i just dont understand why.....there are numerous mic's, webcame/mic combo's etc etc for pc/mac that work great...

why try and fight getting the wiispeak mic working...makes no sense to me..

Guys I know this thread is for another issue but I don't want to waste peoples time creating new threads everywhere.

My issue is I have a USA Wii but I live in the UK. I got Animal crossing with Wii Speak and have a European download ticket. When I enter it into the shop channel it says I can't use that in this country.

So my question is, can you install the Wii Speak channel another way. I know I could install it by changing my Wii's region to Europe, but then all my other channels and saves are screwed. So I would like to avoid that option. Or is there a region free wad available where I could use my European code without fear of bricking my Wii?

Cheers for any help

The Answer is because it's fun and satisfying to meet the challenge.

It's the very definition of hacking. Trying to make something designed to
run on one system work on another. Like writing an emulator.
