Wiimote will not connect to PC

I bought a bluetooth adapter so i can connect my wii remote to my pc. Suprise suprise, it ain't working.
I don't know what im doing wrong, Everytime I try to pair the wiimote it gets stuck on connecting.

I've been trying for hours to find a solution.

The Microsoft Bluetooth Stack can cause compatibility issues for newer Wiimotes with MotionPlus. If your Bluetooth stack is incompatible, uninstall it and then install a compatible stack (e.g. Toshiba Bluetooth Stack).

When I saw the reply I already tried toshiba's bluetooth stack but the driver installation froze.
Should I have the usb dongle disconnected, or keep it connected?

I would think connected. Full disclosure I've never even tried to connect a wiimote to my pc, but years ago I did install the Toshiba stack to my pc for other purposes, with the dongle connected. U may need to uninstall the old driver/stack first

Yeah, that's an idea. If I uninstall the previous drivers, maybe something will happen.
Edit: It still freezes in the installation proccess with 9 bars, right after saying "installing rfbus"

I'm not sure if the mayflash adapter for the wii u pro controller will work with wiimotes. it works perfectly with the pro controller that I use on the pc. I haven't tried it on this pc, but the toshiba stack really messed up my bluetooth devices on another pc, so that's why I bought the adapter.
