I think you are confusing bootmii with the homebrew channel. Both are installed by the hackmii installer, but I see from your syscheck that your ios254 is a stub, instead of bootmii.

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say source menu pings. Honestly I wouldn't worry about themes for now, that's just cosmetic, first make sure your mods are functional before making them aestheticthe io
my ios254 is also a stub. could that be messing with wiiflow?

I never saw the white progress bar. I used to use v4.5.9 (i think) then it seemed to stop working when I tried to install a cios. I do have all three bin files. yes, I deleted the old app folder and installed the new one.
Sounds like you need to reinstall your cios. Even though it appears fine it may not be

Thanks for the advice. So, how do I reinstall Cios? Just go back to installer and start a new one? How do I remove the other ones? And how do I install bootmii? I have it on my SD card.

I described to each of you how to update your softmods using modmii, please reread my posts. I also stated how these softmod adjustments will not impact your Wiiflow issue. You should do as I suggested, and make sure your USB HDD is formatted properly, or try different loaders, as per Modmii's USB loader set up guide

so i'm wondering did you download wads of the cios or did you use the official d2x cios installer?
if you downloaded the wads they could be bad or corrupted.
i suggest the official d2x cios installer or use xflax's modmii.

It seems like modmii was used, based on the tags of his system menu IOS slots.

i got it to work! thank you everyone for your help. here is the guide I used in case anyone else has the same problem.

if you are using 5.4.9 or higher when you go to change the "fore cios setting" turn off the "mount sd only"

I wasn't aware that you were using USB for your games. I thought you had everythig on SD.

Just FYI larger hdd's can be formatted as fat32, just not natively in windows, you need to use a different program for it. I think it's bad advice to recommend using a 32gb flash drive, as these generally have poorer compatibility.

The only new piece of info I got from this was the Wiiflow save data... is this true? Does Wiiflow really create save data that can be managed via the official data management menu? Other than deleting this, everything else stated on reddit was recommended previously.

Anyway, I'm glad you got it working and reported back on your success.

yes wiiflow uses save data for start up settings. read more about it here - https://github.com/Fledge68/WiiFlow_Lite/wiki/Known-Issues#issue-wiiflow-wont-boot-up

as for the reddit info - i think primarily clearing and formatting the usb flash drive and using a clean install of wiiflow is what fixes it.
i wouldn't think you would have to force wiiflow to use cios 250 base 56 but it doesn't hurt.

Oh and Merry Christmas everyone!

it doesn't seem to work
Edit: since this didn't work I tried USBloader gx and it didn't load the game but instead put me back in the homebrew channel menu
When using usb loader gx, make sure you have your roms in your wbfs folder renamed to “(gameid).wbfs” from my experience it only recognizes games in that naming format. Wiiflow will see basically anything as long as it’s a .wbfs file. Try renaming one of your games to the naming scheme written above and try launching it in usb loader again. If this doesn’t work, sometimes having the sd card locked or unlocked has an affect on what the wii sees on boot and can cause games to crash to whatever menu you have your loader set to. Homebrew is notoriously finicky so play with these option one at a time and it gives you a better chance to figure out what the problem is. If you happen to get some games to show up on wii flow and others don’t show up you can try reloading the cache by hitting the home button on the wiimote a couple times until a settings menu pops up then hitting reload cache. Hope this helps
