🌸 Sakura Doraemon FGK RU v1.3.0 🌸

Full Russian localization for
DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of the Great Kingdom

Nintendo Switch • Atmosphère • LayeredFS

🌸 Sakura blooms again!

The full Russian localization of DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of the Great Kingdom for Nintendo Switch is now complete.

This project turned out to be noticeably larger than the first Doraemon localization, with 27,761 text entries localized.

The goal was not to produce a literal word-for-word translation, but to adapt the text into natural Russian while preserving the original meaning, tone, emotions, humor, and personalities of the characters.

✨ What has been localized

• Story dialogue
• Character conversations
• Quests
• Items and descriptions
• Interface text
• Tutorials
• System messages
• Game terminology

The localization has been tested directly on a real Nintendo Switch.

Game version: 1.3.0

⚠️ Notes

In a few places, longer Russian lines may slightly extend beyond the original text boxes because the game uses fixed UI layouts.

This does not affect gameplay or progression.

The project is completely free and non-commercial.

The original game is required and is not included with the localization.

Nice job Amir.Have a question. How the hell russian manage to translate so much games back in the day? you can find a very obscure game having a full translation in russian in days. And this is way before AI.

Good question :) Russia has always had a very strong fan-translation scene. Back in the day, people did almost everything manually — reverse engineering game files, extracting text, editing fonts and encodings, translating thousands of lines, and then testing everything directly in the game.

And sometimes it wasn't even a large team, just a few very dedicated people who simply wanted to play a game in Russian.

Of course, today AI can speed up some parts of the process a lot, but I have huge respect for old-school translators. What they managed to do without modern tools was truly impressive.

And this is exactly the approach we still try to follow today. We don't want to just run a game through AI and call it a translation. First, we figure out how the game itself works, and we manually work with the files, fonts, interface, context, and in-game testing. Modern tools help us work faster, but the foundation is still old school — understand the game from the inside and make the translation by hand as good as we possibly can.

Totally! fan translators are the most hardworking people you can see.
The langage barriers is sadly still preventing us from enjoying alot of cool stuff made in the russian scene.
I hope to find a list of translated Japanese games to russian that never had an english translation.
