Hello, is there any way I can force wiiflow to run in 4:3? I'm trying to get a few wii games to load in 4:3, I don't mean the force 4:3 setting that only changes the games aspect ratio, I want the video output to have black bars on the side, much how virtual console titles have it, and using Nintendont. I have tried loading wiiflow from a 4:3 Homebrew channel, but wiiflow still boots into 16:9 mode.

Wiiflow runs in the video mode you have the system set to. As for the games theres the per game settings for video and a aspect ratio option. Try those. Otherwise i dont think its possible to force a wii game to 4:3

Would it be possible to trick the vWii into thinking Wiiflow Lite is a VC game? VC games are forced into 4:3 mode, which is why HomebrewChannel starts up in 4:3 with the usual forwarder.

i don't have a wii u. maybe greywolf would be able to answer that question for you.

I don't have a Wii U either but the HBC doesn't have a forwarder. It's a standalone channel and as far as I know it uses the system's screen width settings as well.

Ok, forwarder, channel, mostly same difference. The point is the channel for HBC, the version we use for vwii, it uses a VC id, and the vwii has a built in rule that VC is forced into 4:3, ignoring systems screen settings. Vwii doesnt actually have its own settings menu, it inherits what you have wii u set to, and has a hard rule that VC titles are forced to output in 4:3.

The exit to Wii U Menu is working great. :D

Any chance we could get the gamecube controller from the USB adapter for Wii U to work on WiiFlow?

i don't think there's a limit. just a memory space limit. try it and see. if it works let us know.

Hi fledge68,

Finally dedicated some time for the WiiFlow_Lite coverflow testing.

I discovered that
  1. WiiFlow_Lite allows up to 15 coverflows, while original WiiFlow seems to be limited to 7.
  2. Original WiiFlow has a smooth animation, when switching coverflows, while WiiFlow_Lite switches coverflows instantly, without animation. Was it made intentional or is it a bug?
  3. I found out that original WiiFlow loads covers faster than WiiFlow_Lite. Is it due to larger number of coverflows in WiiFlow_Lite? Will reducing number of coverflows, short flow, sideflows, and smallflow actually improve the speed of cover loading?

I created and attached to this post my own WiiFlow_Lite coverflow configuration, which contains the best coverflow designs (My personal IMHO, of course). It needs to be extracted and put in SD(or USB):\wiiflow\themes_lite\coverflows
I hope that someone likes it.

1. great!
2. instantly - yes. made that way. i like it.
3. not sure. i didn't change that code very much unless it's because wiiflow lite defaults to HQ covers being set on while original doesn't. shouldn't make that big of a difference. oh well.

Thanks for reply.

2. Is there a setting that could restore the animation? It does feel quite natural in the original WiiFlow. I guess it is gonna go in to my wishlist.

3. It is a not a big deal and I didn't notice much of the difference, results of the testing were not constant.

I've created a forwarder channel for WiiFlow Lite

I have created a set of box covers for people, who prefer to use the alternative WiiFlow_Lite channel. I made them in Paint, so anyone willing to contribute better design, is very welcome to do so. Please find the covers attached below.

hello, i have a couple of questions. Is there a way to change coverflow on this rather then just having the 1 choice that it comes with? Also is there a way to get nintendont to boot back into wiiflow lite after you exit a game? And lastly... i tried to use modified nintendont so i could have a fancy load screen when loading a gamecube game but i got a dsi error, so is there a way to get nintendont to work with a load screen? Im using wii u. Thank you :)

Thanks so much for much for this, fledge68. This is definitely an upgrade for me. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Is there any chance that you can update your GX emu plugins to their latest released revisions?

I've renamed the dol of the latest releases to use as plugins, and they do function. But it's just not quite the same without a Back to WiiFlow button.

Thanks for your time reading this and cheers, mate.

Where i can find the language files ?
When I start the language download, an error DSI appears

thanks fledge68 for the update
im having error mesages evertime i switch to gamecube games

For homebrew. Goto homebrew and get that error. Now press home btn on wiimote. On the menu that appears change the partition to usb and go back.

For gc you could try deleting wiiflow/cache/lists folder. Wiiflow will recreate it when run again.

Hi, first off thanks for still doing development on a loader for Wii games nowadays.
Almost everything works as expected but I've found a problem while trying to set up my Gamecube library. I know this came up ealier in the thread, it's basically the same problem. Let's get the technical stuff out of the way: I'm using the latest version of this tool inside the vWii and have all my games on a sd card. As long as a GC game is a full size .iso everything works fine (Wiiflow sees the game and shows the little icon animation on the top right when selecting one). But if I use a .ciso (converted with WIT) instead the game won't show up, no matter what I try. Things I've tried include:

- using different versions of WIT to convert the games
- renaming from .iso to .ciso / .ciso to .iso (hide extensions setting in windows is of course set to off)
- using the gamecube plugin instead of the usual gamecube page (even tried all possible variations for the filetypes setting)
- replacing the full size .iso with a CISO (renamed to .iso) after WiiFlow 'knows' about the game
- resetting WiiFlow halfway (delete cache/lists etc.) or completely (also deleting wiiflow_lite.ini in the apps folder and WiiFlow's 'savegame' in the Wii system settings)

I've confirmed that my converted games work fine if I go into Nintendont and load them manually, so the files themselves shouldn't be the cause. Would be nice if this is somehow fixable since full size GC games waste a lot of space.

Hey i used a program called DiskEX as i seen some people had some success with that, there is a batch version out there also so u can convert multiple isos in 1 go. It scrubs all the unneeded stuff from the iso but it still remains a iso. I have yet to try game thst doesnt work using this method :)

Did you try reload cache? When you add a gc game as iso or ciso then you goto the home menu and reload cache.

I do have 2 problems that i cant sort out, so if anyone could help with these that would be great....

1st problem is that when im in a gamecube game and i press the home button it goes all the way back to vwii home, is there a way to get it to go back to wiiflow when i press hme button? Im sure i have had it to do that before.

2nd problem is i cant get gamecubes to load in wiiu widescreen unless i choose each game individually and change it in the settings. I have tried going into nintendont and enabling wiiu widescreen patch but that doesnt apply when i choose a game from wiiflow lite for some reason.

Thank you
