I've noticed there has been a lot of content posted here and relatively little to the wiki as far as themes and other little apps and utilities.
I do understand that it might be tough to filter out what works with with which revisions and stuff as far as themes and with the constant changes in the versions but it would be nice if someone was able to go make an unbiased collection of everything from the past little while and put them in one place. Even if it wasn't sorted out by categories and everything (although it would be nice if it was) it would still be easier than filtering through pages saying "where did I see that download link again?"

As far as themes go you can just go to the first page first post of this thread and click on themes and it will take you to spayrosam's theme thread but make sure you go to page 14 for the themes posted by me and pepxl and the app made by spayrosam. Or just click this link.

the first post of this thread is made by zorglub07 - maybe he can edit it with the content you're talking about.

I noticed that Wiiflow 420+ used a special view for homebrew mode which look great given the smaller png for this mode. However I also noticed problems when adjusting coverflow in homebrew mode (changes are applied to other modes since homebrew view is unchangeable) which is really a bug.
I hope this approach is taken in the Wiiflow-mod also cause it's really hard to make a nice view mode that suites Homebrew mode without getting the other modes look crowded.

In the meantime here's a coverflow mode that make homebrew mode look great for the Mod users:
For those using my default.ini or carbonik.ini just paste this in the ini replacing the old mode. for the others just replace (7) in [_COVERFLOW_7] and [_COVERFLOW_7_S] with the number of the mode you need to add or replace
The only drawback of this is (as I mentioned earlier) crowded view of other modes using this coverflow mode but It won't really matter when you still have 14 modes to choose from ;)

I'll fix the coverflow adjustment for homebrew view in next commit, I indeed overlooked it.
I really tested a lot and found that 15 modes vs 8 modes coverflow doesn't really affect much neither stability nor speed. I hope you can also add 15 modes in your next commit (you can always remove it if problem occurs)
Thanks for the hard work.
there is no point in 15 coverflow modes 8 is just enough....

I agree with davidnlta
As Miigotu said it does infact cause issues with memory, you may not see it depending on your settings/how many games you have installed/if your using nand emu/music playing/fanart/trailers/max_fsaa setting etc etc etc. Fact is, it does not work for everyone. Everyone uses things differently to there own preference. Personally that 15 mode lags like hell for me, making it default would be a nightmare for many users, not all, but many.
I have over 1100 games on a 2TB drive and just tried out the 15 coverflow modes with r217 and the new Carbonix theme. I have fsaa=4 which gives nicely anti-aliased edges and the theme (and games) ran fine for me. I saw a slow down on only one of the modes and I think it was because it was trying to load dozens of graphics. I like most of the modes and wish they were in the default or at least in an alternate 15 mode default. I used it with savegame emulation and didn't see any code dumps or crashes so I think someone is playing the 'stability' card again which is silly.

Show me where I said anything about it code dumping or even once mentioned anything about it not being stable, I simply said "it lags like hell for me" and go on to say that it would work fine for some and not so well for others. Where as the original 7-8 mode works for everyone just fine.

Look I'm not downtalking anyone or the mod, fact is I use mod AND regular wiiflow. I talk with both FIX94 and the mod team, as well as Miigotu very frequently. I'm not defending anyone either, I even LIKE the 15 mode flow! but facts are facts. The coverflow modes are loaded into MEMORY on startup of wiiflow, more flows=more MEMORY needed. Pretty Simple.

You always have the option to add/change flows to your liking, thats the beauty of it. If it works for you and you like it, then congrats! now use it.

I have a persistent problem with the last few releases of wiiflow and all releases of wiiflow-mod, so I assume it's in both code bases. When I start up after a clean install, with none of the wfc files created from the source png cache, wiiflow(-mod) goes through systematically creating the images for display. After only some of the 300+ files have been created, the images will intermittently NOT be created and the cover shows a ? image. Once all are created I'll have 20 or 30 randomly not created, and replaced with the ? image.

This happens in all themes and layouts, so isn't related to a particular theme. It happens consistently, although not the same images get skipped each time.

If I refresh the cache, then some of the missing ones will appear. I sometimes have to refresh the cache 6 to 8 times to get all the images displayed. Once displayed, i.e. the wfc file is created, then they always appear just fine, so it's the creation of the wfc file that sometimes fails.

One though I had is that I use a portable hard drive, which has the convenience of being powered from the USB port, but is slower at 4200 rpm. Could it be the speed of the disk reading that is causing the glitch? Can some timeout for wfc file creation be increased if this is the root cause? The disk (and I've used many models) works just fine in every other aspect, just the cache image creation problem.

Would it be possible to add a PAL60 video mode to the DML video modes?
Sure that would be possible, I'll take a look at it if I'm back from school and send you some test version then to see if it works :)

Sorry if answered before, but is it possible to add a 480p alongside the PAL60?
I don't know if it is possible considering that PAL games had not support for anything progressive. But the loaders have so many video patch modes that I think that it might be possible... :)

Where do I find the Wiiflow Mod IRC channel?

Thanks
It's #wiiflow-mod on the server irc.abjects.net, you can use mibbit or so to connect if you dont know how ;)
I am using Wiiflow Mod r191 at the moment and find it very nice and stable. I have a few questions about it:

I can't switch coverflow. I only get the one that it starts with. Pressing 1 or 2 doesn't do anything. Is that normal?

I want to try r217 but I would like to be able to use the Danish translation for it. Where can I find the updated language files that are mentioned in the change log for r219? Or can I use the language files for r191 from the download page?
You need to have themes installed in the themes folder for that feature to work. People have posted a few of those here a few pages back but, unfortunately, they're not on the wiki or the googlecode pages (HINT, HINT)

As far as the translations, I basically you can use the old translation files. The new messages that have been added since r191 will just be left in the original English but the rest should still be translated on screen.

Thanks FIX94 & Maxternal

r424 is on drop box, check google for commit log.

I made it so that the coverflow editor works for other modes, check the coomit log, its now possible to have a total of 24 views (only 8 are loaded on boot). I might have to make some changes to get it just right so test it out and let me know.

Could be alot of reasons, but very likely its your drive, or out of memory. Simple fix: Make the cache once and stop deleting wfc files.

Nightly build 424: settings menu (click the cog on the game) is a mess. all buttons are on top on one another so its a garbled heap :(

Can't click anything (for example: download cover)

[UPDATED]
Anyone else running d2x v9 b47 249[56] with mario party 9 and experiencing controllers dropping out mid game? Mine do it constantly throughout certain games, and not others. #mindfuck

My controllers have never given me issues before this game. They aren't the new controllers, and they are fully synched to the wii (not just ingame) and they have full batteries... anyone?

EDIT: I'm running wiiflow r414, havent updated to 418 and/or mod.. if that helps?

EDIT 2: Just updated wiiflow to r424 and updated d2x to v9 b47 and it persists to freeze. Interestingly enough I can replicate the fault EVERYTIME by starting a 1 or 2 player game and playing "Pair of aces" mini game vs bowser junior. If I fire at him the controller loses connection every single shot. Tested 2 players and if either player shoots their wiimote gets disconnected and reconnects.

Is it just me?!

Hi,

Anyone know if Wiiflow Fanart Creator is still good to use? If so where I could pick a copy up links dead on wiki.

Cheers!

I just checked and didn't see the problem you are having... my settings comes up fine with r424. I am using d2x v8 final though.

@mugotu how can I have 24 modes using the coverflow editor? Is this also done by changing the themes ini file?
I tested rev424 & I noticed that you have problems with carbonik theme (buttons are empty) in adjust coverflow mode.
And still I went to homebrew mode then adjust coverflow and nothing happened.
Can this be due to the fact that both your app & the mod are using the same folders for cfg&settings hence conflicting?

themes need updating separate from the mod as the filenames are different within the theme folder, WiiFlow and the mod should not be used simultaneously that's just stupid, which in turn will cause misleading problems.

If you want to use the app together without conflict then edit the defines to point to a different .ini and folder

you will get conflicting reports using a theme as themes will need to be updated different for the mod and wiiflow and themese havent been updated to work with the latest wiiflow not sure about the mod. Also yes you might get both wiiflows acting up for sharing settings.

It's important to note that the 24 theme modes for r424 are 8 for homebrew, 8 for channels, and 8 for normal coverflow so I just thought it would be good to keep that in mind so no one tried to put 24 modes in using the format for the 15 global modes from the mod which could likely cause problems.
