@Etheboss....that would be great...thanks for taking interest in our plight
smile.gif

alternatively, you could upload your .dol for us to test....that way we'll all have a working one as well
wink.gif

thx @Etheboss

BTW, why dont you compile new rev and post them in googlecode as CFG and GX? This should avoid this kind of problem (bad compiled or dirty devkit). Doing this, our feedback can be considered as real and not fake by broken revs.

thx a lot

I will talk about this with the devs...i don't want to upload anything without their consent...

But in the mean time i will test my own compiled dol from rev374 first, if that one works it must be a dirty devkit the other ppl use..

Greetz Etheboss

I don't think it's anything to do with the .dol (but like I said - I know shit
smile.gif
)

I can replicate the problem.... what do you guys that can't load Black Ops for example have in *:/wiiflow/settings ?

I have a strange problem...
Latest beta version of Wiiflow (r373/R374) won't detect my FAT32 USB drive.

R304 works great.
I use wiiflow with cios 249 (Cios dx v6 installed)

i just setup three different SD cards with fresh wiiflow installs...one with 249r355, one with 249r373, and one with 224r374

each card contained :\apps\wiiflow\[boot.dol, icon.png, meta.xml] and :\wiiflow\[boxcovers, cache, codes, covers, fanart, themes] prior to first launch....

after launch the following was created in all three cases:

:\apps\wiiflow\wiiflow.ini
:\wiiflow\languages (empty)
:\wiiflow\music (empty)
:\wiiflow\trailers (empty)
:\wiiflow\screenshots (empty)
:\wiiflow\trailers (empty)
:\wiiflow\settings (containing: catergories.ini, gameconfig1.ini, gameconfig2.ini, titlesdump.ini)

as before the following happened:
249r355: BO launches fine on 250
249r373: wiiflow crashes trying to launch BO on 250
224r374: wiiflow crashes trying to launch BO on 250 (BO launches fine on default 224)

comparing the five .ini files wiiflow created on first launch for the three builds, all are identical except the titlesdump.ini for r355 differs from that of r373/r374 (this i expected as explained in the change log and i suspect is the reason for r373/r374 loading faster and having no blackscreen lock-ups--probably related directly to number of games on drive).

i hope this rules out anything but a .dol problem....

i'll keep the three cards set up as they are if anyone would like me to do any additional testing....

to play BO or conduit2, just run wiiflow250 or wiiflow224 on default settings....to play everything else, run default wiiflow249

as a few others have reported, i also notice the remote de-sync/re-sync issue when using wiiflow249...but the problem doesn't happen when using wiiflow224....makes me think it's cIOS related....
Why should I do that? Conduit 2 has always worked for me on 249 base 56. I even tested it yesterday.

same error,, i cant compile any Wiflow version,,,
CFG, GX, forwarders,, everything is compiling fine except Wiiflow (devtikppc + libogc 1.8.7)

And now r375 source has been uploaded. Everyone, let's try this one out now.

Gave r375 a try this morning and the problem is still there.

I'm hoping that this is an issue of not having the right libraries installed, as etheboss suggests.

Could someone build a 375 that everyone could try it
please, i'm in the same boat. don't know or have the time.. kids/work.. the usual parent things. an i work third so, when i get home it's sleep most of the day. if not all day. so any i have r355.. so yea it's outdated. i even tried to compile, but as others kept getting errors. so just gave up hoping someone would be cool enough to look out for the ones still in the dark.. shit i know i would.. from the look an from reading, looks like we are left to compile our own now..

. havent heard any thing from wiiflow team, so thats what it's looking like.

Have ypu copied the portlibs to your DevKitPro folder? Don't know if this can cause your problems, just a shot...

The wiiflow devs will release eventually release a new version once they have finished adding some new features (e.g. support for the new return to channel code for d2x cIOS) and fixing bugs so that the release will be stable and as good as possible.

Until then, r355 works great and should load any game you throw at it. The only differences in features between r355 and r375 is new cIOS identification, a new default font, and support for drives with 4k cluster size. Obviously there are bugfixes as well, but these are the only feature changes.

I could upload the latest rev, but I won't do it without permission from the wiiflow devs. Also, there is an issue with this latest rev since you can play games that use another cIOS. Its unclear if this is an actual bug or if it is caused by compiling with the wrong devkit libraries.

How about giving r369 a try at your end? As I said before, that revision does not have the code dump (at least for me) when using an alternate cIOS. It also has the updated cIOS identification and caching, i.e. Wiiflow startup time seems faster.

how would one get that at this point now that it has been superseded on the googlecode site? ...all i have is the last three (ending in r375).... maybe i'm just blind, but i thought only the most current revision was available for compiling....

well if like me, they always back things up no matter how small it seems. just "in case" a newer one has more bugs, then they have a working one to fall back on..

@shortz: ...i too am like that, i just never compiled anything prior to r373...i still have wiiflow releases going back years and enough obsolete HBC apps, config files, covers, IOS .wads, etc. to fill a 16GB SD card....but that doesn't help me get r369 as suggested...

@Etheboss....any status update on your testing the dirty devkit theory?

@F.Lobot: ...okay, my bad.... i am a 224wiiflow-r228 user (prior to all this testing r355 onward)...i launch everything i can on [57]....like BO, i was [incorrectly] thinking Conduit 2 was one which required [57]....which is based on what i've read here on the temp....TBH, i never tested on [56]....i stand corrected....EDIT: Headset usage with Conduit 2 requires [57]...so i'm not entirely wrong here afterall (thanks Joostin)

Your SVN client can download older revs. For example, I use tortoise SVN and there is an option where you can choose the head revision (i.e. current rev), or you can specify the rev. Type in 369 and you're good to go.

I compiled r369 just before I left from work but didn't have time to test it

Yep, sorry, i was busy...my own compiled version works just like the devs one...
What i did was totally delete devkitpro, then installed the latest from internet.

note: i did not need anything else

Also r-win (one of the devs) said he will update the wiiflowiki (or google page) so you can download the correct rev374 dol.
It will be 374, because that seems to be very stable ATM.

Greetz.
Etheboss

UPDATE: Wiiflowiki is updated, you will find revision 374 on the main page.

Take under account that this rev is still a beta even though the Wiiflow team thinks it is very stable.
If you do run into problems, you can come to our IRC to discuss it or wait for a final release.
