Hi,

I was using ocarina (cheat app) with brawl, and when i tried the stage modifyer code, it froze (as expected). It also made a lot of noise, and i pulled the plug out.
However, when i tried to boot the game again (still through ocarina), it would not read the disc. I pressed home on it accidentally, and it went into this big bunch of code. had to pull the power out.

Now it won't read any discs.

any help/advice?

My wii - 3.2E, wiikey, game was brawl NTSC-us

Try to boot it normally
Try Wii Sports
Try to pull the powerout, wait 1hr and try again

Else would be to try to format the Wii and see if it works after that.

Tried with wii sports and the originals, and a 2 min powerout (the manual indicated to do so last time it screwed up - without a modchip)

i guess I'll try the 1 hr powerout

maybe silly but, my wii doesnt read discs in vertical position
but it does read discs in horizontal position.. maybe worth a try

try performing an update, my wii had this issue at launch and this fixed it. Its a long shot but theres not much else left to try.

no sounds whatsoever. the cd image spins for a bit (but mostly straight away) and shows the question mark thingy.

i'll try update when i can access wireless at a friends.

But get close to your wii and try to tell if disc is spinning or not. If you hear only "click CLICK click" then it's your laser. If it spins, then laser too. IF it don't spins....ohoho it can be motor then.

EDIT: What happened? I posted it once!

i see what you mean

it does a small click click, and it spins but it must only do like half a turn.

EDIT: i'll post the results of the update i guess.. or any other way if i get to fix it.
THANKS FOR THE GREAT HELP

If its the laser, the worst case it can be replaced.

The wii always make clicking noises when the dvds are inserted, maybe the laser is dirty?

The clicks I mean are...try to insert disc wrong. You'll hear what the wii does if it have broken laser.

My second wii HAVE broken laser. It simply clicks three times and don't spin the disc.

This is THE same as with SSBB and launch wiis

it remind the famous click click click problem with SSBB, many lens could not read that disc, even the original.

Sound that ur laser has big problem, especially from the weird sound part.

i have the SSBB click click click problem, although im lucky enough that i can still get the game to work. you could try a laser cleaning disc.
