I don't know where you read this but it is BS.Hi all I put homebrew onto my wii u and also installed wads to allow me to play backup games. After some tough research, apparently now my wii u wont update now because of it, meaning i cant use the wii u marketplace, netflix etc....any fix??
First off, it's not firmware. I'm tired of people calling the System Menu on the Wii and Wii U "firmware". Second, he never even answered my question. From the look of it, he hasn't even tried updating. What firmware are you on? If you're system is refusing to update via Wi-Fi, you will need to buy a game disc to update with, as the update is becoming corrupt when downloading. I had this issue with 2.0.0 to 2.1.0, and it was due to the update not downloading correctly, and I tried 5 times! I got Wario Ware, and the on-disc update worked the first time.
Softmodding doesn't prevent updating. Some people have been unable to update, and a percentage of them have had softmods. There isn't a relation.May I have a chance if I softmod my Wii U then update Wii U system ? Or I must remove softmod then update ?

I know that solved it for some people.Wasnt this already solved some time ago?
I remember, you just have to use another router or go to a friends place and use his internet connection, because some routers just always corrupted the file, no matter, what you did...
I'm not entirely sure, if that's true, I just remember reading about someone solving it like this.
