Uhmm that's something new to me, as far as I know IOSU is contained within OSv11 which means it's totally updatable, hence patchable
But I'm open to hear your input on backing up that claim ^^.

As far as I'm aware, updates don't patch the boot sequence, and hykem said that given access to the boot sequence, it could start up the back regardless, no? It virtually gives us full access to the system, no? That means the parts which aren't updated. I'll try to find a link where he explains it.

How come? And where's the breaking point for a "useful" firmware version? Would someone currently stuck on 5.5 be as well off as someone on 4.5?
