That's great news! But you can always offline-upgrade when needed, while downgrading is not (yet?) an option. I thought there was a thread on here that listed the included firmware updates for WiiU game discs --can't seem to find it-- to see if / which has a 5.0.0 update.

The reason I'm still reluctant is that Bubba said "it was 3.x.x IOSU exploit".

Believe what you will but no one ever tells the complete truth not even Marcan and f0f especially @ last year 30c3.
He could have told the complete truth about when the BATs on the ppc were being setup(the famous diagram of Ram/L2 Cache/Real Mode/Translated Mode) that also setup the access to the espresso OTP area but even a year later and the release of the ppc bootrom access/Dump still no correction of the record.

And if you(or others) believe that you can get the keys from the Starbuck OTP banks without access to an IOSU exploit or specifically from 2.x.x software, then, you must believe in time travel or a bunch of lucky guesses by f0f to be able to have access to all but boot1 key in Dec of 2012 when 3.x.x came out much later. The timeline is clear.

Who said they were the same ones? bubba =/= fail0verflow. The 3.1.0 IOSU exploit is not the one they used.

I NEVER implied(nor would I) that bubba was part of (in any way) fail0verflow.
I was replying to the thread of thought between SirByte and TSK to which bubba seemed to indicate comex used a 3.x.x exploit.

Which if you want to correct the record some more, f0f did NOT have a completely working "public" IOSU exploit(for other developers to easily use) until Nov of 2013.

all this talk seems to me irrelevant to the end user. credits will be given to those that release something in the end nor those that did it first or late. :P the scene was a more vivid in the old days no background or underground ,it seems we moved to the days where all progress is made in a closed circle of few bragging to each other about first and second...

That may be true, but would you rather all of us go silent until something usable is finally finished? People already complain that we don't post enough about progress. Besides, when only 2 people are actively working on the kernel exploit (Marionumber1 and myself have been hanging out on the IRC for several days now troubleshooting it), there's not much progress going to be made regardless. However, if what I've been told in PM is true, a certain drive-based exploit (that people have been complaining about for months) has been finished and sent out to testers which means we should see /something/ relatively soon. However, given how slow making it has been, I have no idea how long it's going to be until it sees the light of day, so don't start asking about it. (plus I don't know anything other then the fact that "it is done")
Believe me, I wish everyone could work together. Progress would be made a lot faster, for sure, and we wouldn't have these wars like you mentioned about who is best.

So which exactly is the ideal version to have our wiiu on to use this? I want to be sure I am able to take advantage of this when it does become public.

As of now, the browser exploit works on versions 4.0.0 to 5.1.0, inclusive. The gadget finding doesn't seem to work on 4.0.x right now, but we'll work on that later. And after the kernel exploit is done, we plan to get a new browser exploit too.

Marionumber1 and NWPlayer123 for presidents! lol. But seriously, you guys rock my socks off! Keep up the excellent work! I can't wait to see the kernel exploit in all its glory (but don't rush it, whenever its ready to see the day of light...).

Its going to be epic and don't worry about all the people constantly hounding you for the latest info. Just keep plugging away at it. I would love to offer a hand to you guys, but I don't think I'd be much help at this point as my programming skills are limited to ASM and MATLAB XD. However, if there IS anything I can do to help, please let me know :)

Yeah, my programming skills are pretty limited as well, but I would still like to help out also.

Can somebody update the Start Post with the supported Versions?

I've read it so often, that you can offline-update with Smash Bros and still be safe, but the OT says 5.1.0 is safe and 5.1.1+ is unsafe...
