Oh I thought you wired up the eMMC. Explains the "Play off it" bit I guess.
Can you you solder? If so can you dump the eMMC and the WiiU NAND chip?
I can solder.. You need?
@ wulfy: The reason for the long explanation is you seem to be asking quit a few questions as to why I am using it. So I figured I'd explain it. Also, dislocker is a very great tool. If compiled correctly can unlock many other encryption. (reason I didn't put a link to it on my post as it is useless in it's current state)
I too am running both U's at 5.1.2. But one is stuck. (the one I put the corrupt data in) I think it is bootlooping. I'm gonna dig deeper into this one when I have time. (I can remove the save data by unplugging the usb but I am curious to what is going on and I don't know why it's reading from the usb when I never told it to.) But the other one is completely not messed with. If you don't get what you need I will capture whatever you are looking for. (guessing the difference in the updated browser)

ninja: as I am using a one hard drive laptop sdb is my usb stick. (I have multiple partitions in my primary hard drive but they are all sda 1,2,3,4.
@ Yahoo: it's not tangential. Not at all. You just can't use repaired ways.

IOSU probably mounts the external USB device when it's starting all the device drivers, and fails there.

Is anyone on here on 5.1.2 and willing to do a few specific packet captures for me? There's a fairly reasonable MITM exploit, but none of us can test it since none of us or our friends are on 5.1.2.

If you're on that version and already know how to use Wireshark with your Wii U, just PM me. Thanks.

I'm on 5.1.2E and I could help out with it.
The problem is: I don`t know what I have to do with wireshark ^^'
If you can tell me what I have to do, I'll try it for you

this is the dumbest shit i have ever seen. anyone else who has seen this is now consequently dumber for having seen it. it AMAZES me that you even remotely think you achieved something here, and for the love of god you haven't "dumped" anything even closely resembling a game. and what exactly is this a proof on concept of? that you can build a crossover cable and connect one end to your laptop and the other to the wiiu? cheers bro that's fucking amazing.

This "could" potentially be used to for a minor exploit as others have stated. This within itself will not provide an opportunity for anything major, but for people just looking to inject some hex code 'on the fly' to manipulate code thats already running on the console (in game or w/e), this could be used to do just that (theoretically). Its not a total lost cause.

In fact this reminds of the datel drive doctor for the original wii that allowed you to inject code into your disc drive 'on the fly' while it was running a game to manipulate stuff. It was mainly intended for amateur programmers/tinkerers but was never meant to serve as a full blown exploit by any means. What Fatal is working on, could lead to a similar exploit (except not necessarily involving the disc drive itself or any additional hardware :P)

People are so quick to judge. I understand there are mad fakers out there, that put out fake videos/pics in exchange for very short lived moment in the spotlight, but perhaps what Fatal is doing, isn't fake. Has anyone thought of that possibility? He could maybe be onto something here. Even if its a minor exploit, its still cool in my book :). And if he does turn out to be faking this, we'll all find out soon enough. Lets just give him the benefit of the doubt here, and see if he can provide any viable proof/results.

He's just finding a bunch of ways to BS, as far as I've seen. Please do prove me wrong, though.

I spose I can say this though, the potential exploit I was looking into only exists on the 3DS. The Wii U is not vulnerable, unfortunately. So that's that.

TSK, all he has done was hijack an encrypted communication channel. Even if he were to 'inject data on the fly', he would still need to do so within the confines of the signed code. Aaaand that's not happening. Which is why I call bullshit.

Well lets see if he can produce any actual proof of code injection then :P

Probably could have made a 30 second clip but the song lasted longer than that. And I like the song. (It's not intended for anyone just like the song)

More from this "skid". And way more to come.

Uh, it looks to me like you pasted a Youtube URL in a file full of encrypted data. People might be more inclined to trust you if you clearly explained what you did, rather than creating an over-the-top video, and had proof of your claim (though I don't even really know what the claim is supposed to be).

LOL, it's the first part of hulu plus wii u app. That's the 8gig flash drive from out of my wii u. It's not supposed to prove anything much just that entry and edit is functional. Also since you aren't altering the state of the format to the usb you can pretty much edit whatever you want. Just have to decode it so you know what you are editing. Then magic happens.

you typed it wrong. This is the video it takes you to.

It's not available because it's waiting on something to enable it.
Something you pc doesn't have.
And it starts with a youtube because that's how all third party internet tv apps work. (well at least hulu)
It's directing you to a channel which is the front end of the app.

Oh yeah. Sorry Mario number 1, I am simply viewing the data within the formatted usb. (wii u formatted that is) I'm gonna draw out this how to for a little while. Mostly to see if someone else picks up on it and runs with it before I finish. (I don't want any credit for anything but I also don't feel like just spitting it out)

@The Real Jdbye What don't you get? If someone use a stolen creditcard. Then sell said key on G2A. If I the dev sold the game key, I will get the charge back cost. That's how it works, it doesn't matter if I generate 300 keys if 300 of them are bought with stolen credit cards. I never said it was on Steam, but its the dev that gets hit. There is a ton of stories out there if you google it.
