Aren't we still limited to 32K of code/data, though? There's not a lot you can really do with that beyond basic demos or demoscene type stuff.

Yeah, that's one issue, which requires an ELF loader or extra code loader. Once again, I can work on something like that, but I have to balance that with my work on IOSU exploitation.

That's not actually true. You can already write fairly good homebrew with just a userspace exploit (do you think Wii U games have kernel access? :P). Most of the useful APIs are documented on WiiUBrew, but some stuff like audio is missing. And as mentioned before, we have some examples like Pong. If people need more guidance, I'd be willing to work on a tutorial and some basic examples.

What about porting superior emulators over, like PCSX-R, Snes9x 1.53/Higan? Would those ever be feasible?

yeah the issue is userspace on 5.3.2 has no memory to work with so unless there is an elf loader coded homebrew aint going foward at all since there is basicaly no space at all to code anything.

That fucking blows chunks. So in other words, no emulators at all, well, in that case, screw staying on 5.3.2 if emulators can't be ported, games modded, and so on. Wonderful.

You could try emulating on any of the other dozens of consoles released in the decades before the wiiu. Why is it that people require emulation on every new console? Go buy a used xbox for $30!

I hate that bullshit mentality, "they should get the emulators on something else lol", I wish people stopped using that as an argument, it's stinks and I don't agree with it because it's the reason people get unmotivated.

Here are the reasons the Wii U should have homebrew emulators: One, the game pad,, being able to control the emulators on there, being able to control them instead of simply seeing them on the screen. Two, not everyone has or wants an Xbox, three, I don't have the money to spare since i barely started working, that, I don't want one. Four, if people want their emulators ported to the Wii U, you can't tell us what we want or don't want. Deal with it.

Why are you even suggesting this on a Nintendo console hacking thread? If people want emulators on the Wii U, that's their right, and besides, the Wii U is more powerful than the Xbox and Xbox 360, so...

Is it just me or is there a new system update on the wiiu because there is a system update that failed to download in my download screen and i am on 5.4.
It's most likely a failed game update. Don't worry about that ;)
If a new update is out, NWP would have posted about it asap :P

Just a question:

How will people be able to avoid being banned when the final hack come? How people did with Wii? Just keep offline?

Nintendo's infrastructure is so bad they aren't able to ban people properly.
