Hardware Wii U doesnt recognize HDD

Hello,
So i have an old Seagate HDD which has 500GB Storage and i wanna use it for my Wii U, but it wont recognize it. I have even tried formatting it on my PC and i also have used a Y Cable buuut whenever i plug the HDD in, it just beeps.
Any advice is appreciated :D

No its like a beeep (then silence for a moment) beeep, that also happens when i plug it in to my PC but only rarely
EDIT: The hard started beeping a loooong time ago, when i had a Wii it started

This HDD only has one port, but i found out that if a use a USB hud the HDD wont beep.

that drive is bad. i have a segate drive that does that because it cant spin up. you can get a new hdd and use the box you have.
