Wii system menu 4.2 released!
Deletes and blocks homebrew

Nintendo has been so kind as to release system menu 4.2 for the Wii. This update will delete The Homebrew Channel, all cIOS files and remove bootmii from your system. It appears that all IOS files have been updated and a few new ones installed. Effectively, it will remove and all homebrew and iso loading capabilities from your console so for now we recommend not upgrading!

The update doesn't add any new functionality other than block homebrew. For now feel free to discuss the new update in our thread linked to below:

Wonder how things will work out in terms of homebrew in the future.

Well, looks like I'm buying a Wii on ebay. Most likely the new Wii's will have this firmware.
