Hacking wii soft mod newbie - modmii or complete softmod guide?

+1 - I used this (well I originally used it BEFORE it was called modMii) never had any trouble with it (note that I've only softmodded twice)

It doesn't generally matter what guide you use, the end result should be as good as the same with all guides.

I'd start with reading all through the complete softmod guide (the link tj_cool mentions) to familiarize with the terms, conditions and slang. Then, when you got more or less a grasp on what it is you're going to do, use modmii to actually do it (if you read the CSG good enough, you should be able to understand everything modmii is capable of doing).
