Hacking Wii Shop Update

I have a wii with version 4.0 pre- installed, is it okay if i use WiiSCU to update my wii shop channel? http://wiibrew.org/wiki/WiiSCU

Yep. Just update the Shop Channel.

4.1 with IOS61 at version 4890.

Just used WiiSCU 0.23 to update the Wii Shopping channel only, took about 10 minutes to download and install.

All works.

start out with PC download finish with wad installer on wii

then instal wad with wad manager

It will download the files required - about 18 of them and then install - overall process takes about 10 minutes.

excuse me, that does not answer my question and besides 0.23 is only for wii menu versions 4.1 and above not 4.0

yes...it only updates shop channel.
But still...i was in 4.1 and used the wiiSCU .23 and basicly is the same.

WiiSCU can be used on 4.0 - Its the same...

Dude, I had the same sort of query about the use of this to update the shop channel...... Just update the shop channel only when using it.....

WiiSCU 0.23 wil work fine on ANY System Menu, right up from 1.0 (probably, havent actually tested it. It would definetly work on anything 3.2+)
